The Legendary Techniice Company have several range of ice boxes and the Classic range being the most popular are Robust , Tough , Heavy Duty Commercial Grade Icebox Coolers that are hand crafted and now built with a unique Dual Seal Feature designed to create airlock between two seals and enhance performance. The Box is designed to have a DOUBLE THICKNESS LID to provide double insulation from the top where most radiant heat enters the Box . The boxes are constructed with HIGH DENSITY MULTI COMPOUND POLYURETHANE INSULATION injected under high pressure into the walls and double thickness lids for stunning performance.

The box also has a LID HANDLE so you can easily lift the lid even when there is undue suction from the vacuum in the box. The UNIQUE QUAD LATCH SYSTEM stainless steel latches plus Constant Pressure Pull downs for increased performance and lid stability over 32 °C . They are built with COMFORTABLE FULL LENGTH GRAB RAILS so you don’t have to bend down so far to pick up and will not delaminate wall from insulation like welded handles. The Classic range also have a PAD LOCK OPTION so you can secure your food and drinks or for secure storage when used as storage box. The Box also has a LARGE BUNG WITH ‘O’ RING threaded to accept water tap for drinking water or garden hose fitting to drain water from ice. The Taps are available through most hardware stores.

The Box now comes with FULLY MOULDED HINGES with corrosion resistant pins and they also have MARINE GRADE ROPE RESTRAINTS for additional support to self supporting hinges, Most companies don't offer these ropes in a view to cut costs. The Classic Range of ice coolers are built with SEPARATE HIGH QUALITY FOOD GRADE INNER LINER to make your food safe from harmful chemicals. Costs more to make them like this but worth it. The ice boxes are cleverly designed to have TOUGH FULL LENGTH WHITE SKIDS on the bottom on all models as Big as 100L and additional side skids on 100Ltr model and above to prevent scuffing in trailers, Boats and also gives you the ability to Drag these Big Iceboxes without having to lift them on any Terrain. All 70L and above iceboxes are designed with ANCHOR POINTS so the body or the lid can be anchored to the boat or Ute .This way you can continue to open and close the lid when the box is still anchored. Overall The Classic Range are tough iceboxes which has all the features you can imagine.

i have seen virtually the same icebox retailing at target/kmart for about $70.
i think its rubbish that they claim it was originally 299$
i would check other stores first ppl

Virtually the same is not the same. Techni ice has patents on the boxes, and are noticeably better than those KMart ones.

  • Has anyone used the re-usable dry ice sheets?

    Thoughts?

    • +2

      Yes they are great.
Row of beers, sheet, row of beers, sheet etc

    • +1

The dry ice sheets look like the ones that I got with my techniice tubs …. we ended up tossing the sheets cos they go slimy as they defrost, easy enough to rinse and freeze but just … icky to handle … and bulky

      • +2

If you follow the instructions it actually mentions the slime means they haven't absorbed enough moisture. I ended up soaking mine for a few days in hot water and fixed them right up no slime.

As they get older moisture escapes so keep soaking them and you get no slime :)

This is the standard price, isn't it?

Cache shows it was $99 on the 15th, and I vaguely remember it being the same price last time I looked months ago.

Yeah they pretty much always have this "sale" price, its their standard strategy to pretend a huge discount. Can score them cheaper on their Ebay store.
But….they are relatively excellent Eskys despite all the sales bullshit.

    • Totally agree. These are great ice boxes for the price. I have one myself and think it is great value. But, the RRP is rubbish and does not indicate a true saving as these are always at the reduced price. With that said, similar ice boxes do sell for $299 so the RRP is not totally dishonest.

I would recommend these at this price, and the quality is good, but the saving is not $200.

    • I have two techni-ice eskies, and friends with quite a few more, and they are very good, but you can buy them cheaper on ebay. I needed one in April and only had 6 days to bid, but managed $20 cheaper than this. Go look at the ebay completed auction price to see what they sell for.

  • Looks good, but I don't think a standard soft drink bottle will stand upright in it. Seems a cm or 2 too short. Pitty, that's a deal breaker for me as the 60L jobbie is simply too big for my car.

They're also having a seconds clearance this weekend at their Vic warehouse. I had a look and picked up a 45l hybrid. The guy said they're doing them for $1/litre, we got another $5 off. $40 isn't bad compared to the $179+.
