First up, this is only for those interested in forex / commodity trading (and very limited share trading). It's not for everyone, know your risks, trade only what you can afford to lose, I am not a financial advisor, etc., etc.,

I got this referral from a friend last week. Signed up, deposited US$100 and I got a US$50 bonus credited to the account. He got a US$100 bonus in his account. All up that US$150 'free'. The credits were instantly applied as soon as the initial deposit went through.

Note: you need to be referred to get the $50 bonus. (ie. use a referral link)

  What are the conditions for withdrawing the money? Could I just simply withdraw the $150 back into my bank account without trading? If I have to trade could I simply buy and sell straight away? Are there any brokerage fees?

    I haven't tried withdrawing yet but the only restriction seems to be you must verify yourself with id (passport, utility bill, credit card), minimum withdrawal is $20, and they charge $5 withdrawal fee

    They don't have a brokerage fee but they make money on the spreads. For a normal account, it is 3 pips $0.0003. (the difference between the Ask and the Bid prices of a currency pair)

    None from eToro. You may be charged foreign conversion fees by your bank of course.

    There's nothing to say you can't withdraw the $50. However, in the spirit of the promotion, I would not advise you do this straight away. At least try out the service and make a few trades or copy some traders.

    From their T&C's:

    "If We suspect that a user has abused or attempted to abuse a bonus and/or other promotion or otherwise acted with a lack of good faith towards Us, then We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to deny, withhold or withdraw from that user the bonus or promotion and if necessary to cancel any terms & conditions with respect to that user, either temporarily or permanently, or terminate that user's access to the service and/or block that user's account."

    i don't believe they allowing you withdraw without ask you to trade. minus their $5 withdrawal fees, so nett is $45 if they allowing you to withdraw all this bonus

    I will but I sent them an email first to confirm that the $50 discount will be applied as there is absolutely nothing on the payment screen confirming this will be the case.

  Please note that there is a NWA (non widthdrawable amount) http://www.etoro.com/help/ So you can't simply sign up, deposit your 100 and get $50 for free - you must do many trades to reduce the $50 NWA to 0 so you can get the full $50.

  http://www.etoro.com/help/ and type in "credits policy" for more info. I stupidly invested in the AUD lastnight and it crashed today and I lost $42 and thought "hey that was fun, at least I still have $108, better cut my losses and get out of this" Could only withdraw $60….

  So yeah - I don't really consider this a bargain anymore as you have to trade a lot to get your $50 and in that time buying and selling you may well lose money unless you know what you're doing.
