I haven't heard about etsy before and don't know their legitimacy/credibility. A lot of scam going around the internet even someone with bucket at your local shopping centre claiming collecting donation for bushfire.

Just be careful and better donate your dollars straight to Red Cross.

Anyway, I am sorry to vote down your post again, simply from the point of view that .. it's simply not a bargain at the slightest!

    • Etsy is very real and legitimate. It's like the eBay for artist and people who design/produce their own goods. So we just have to be careful about the legitimacy of this particular shop.

Voting negative because its not a bargain. if you want to raise awareness the forum is a better way of doing it.

  • Sounds fake - they're donating 100% profit and giving free postage???

  • Etsy are real, but not a charity. Plus, I've never heard of the person running the store.

Also there's nothing on the Red Cross' website about it.

  • So, just because we've never heard of a place they must be fake. Pretty likely that we've heard of every retailer on the www after all ?? ;-)

Have more than a 2 second look at this site and you'll see they're a perfectly legitimate group of sellers from all around the world who have each put up a few items for sale to help others in need.

See http://www.etsy.com/about.php for info on etsy, and
http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=6902734 for info on the legitimacy of this offer - it's just people making things and donating them + postage to help others. A BIG + from me.

  • No one is saying that Etsy is "fake", Etsy is a great website, however who knows who set up the store and where the money is really going? Etsy itself doesn't run the store, it just provides the setup and takes fees, somewhat like Ebay.

  • It's nice to raise awareness to the appeal but has to give a negative vote as this is not a bargain.

  • This more looks like a personal shop. I highly doubt it will donate the money to bushfire's victims. There is no credibility.
