  • i find the bluetooth speakers get annoying if using more than one device to connect to it as if housemate leaves bluetooth on i have to tell him to turn it off in order for me to then connect

i think sony's idea using the NFC chip to connect is good in making the connection part easier

    • We're about to test out the DJ function it in - Sounds like a heaps good idea to me.

Only thing i would like to be improved about it is possibly a Pause/Play, Next and Previous buttons available.

      But you're definitely right there

    • i thought the idea with the "DJ" function on these was that when one device stops sending audio, it will automatically switch to another device playing sound. that would prevent the issue you describe, m82.

      can you confirm, silvion?

      • +1

So, connected an S3 and iPhone 5. Both connected fine, played music fine.
Found that we had to pause one phone, then click play on the next for music to swap phone. Worked really quickly though. Just have to stop music on one phone before swapping to the next. Doesn't automatically do it

        • yeah, that's how it should work, switching devices when one device stops playing.

for it to switch automatically between songs, the gap detection would have to be way too short, and could cause switches during breaks in a song.

sounds like it works pretty well!

  • I can't see any mention of the iTunes gift card, is it in store only?

    • It's right above the youtube video!

      • Thanks, couldn't see it on my mobile!

        • Oh haha, good one :p

    • Also in the catalogue

  • The 3 inch woofer got me. Like the $100 Hi Fi

  • Seriously contemplating getting this. How would it go as a room speaker to watch movies as well?
And what price would I be able to resell the itunes gift card for?

    • About $80 for the giftcard.
Its great for music, not sure about movies - you'd have to test it yourself. Probably go well!
It's a bit bassy too for the heavy scenes.

  • If you're considering this device, also check out the JBL OnBeat Venue. I haven't heard the Logitech but can vouch for the JBL sounding (and looking) great. The $100 iTunes card does sweeten the deal on the Logitech but the JBL is currently well priced at Harvey Norman at $196 — generally $75-$100 dearer in other stores.

  • …and to think this was priced $499 on release.

I love Logitech/UE, but I think Yamaha PDX-12 sounds better, and louder (without distortion)
