        This is Australia

Perfect excuse to ramp up the prices.

        • +2

I think it's more about comparing products to other products available to Australia. Most of the time the products come from the same origin.

      • +6

Wrong website then. We're looking for bargains.

      • +9

sadly, this is ozbargain, not ozdomesticgoods. people come here to find the cheapest prices, and you are falling rather short of vitacost, iherb, bb etc.

This is Australia, so why are all your products weights listed in pounds.

    Since you asked for it…

    Feedback:

Might just be me, but your website is unusable in Firefox. Extremely jumpy, lagging and keeps freezing. Works fine in Chrome though.

Your FREE DELIVERY deal is probably the worst I have seen ever! FREE DELIVERY FOR ORDERS OVER $150.. then in small text (within Sydney metro). This shouldn't be such a dominant feature when it dismisses 99% of Australia.

Even with your 10% discount, your prices are still some of the most expensive I've seen from a local online store. Your clearance prices are more than eBay every day prices.

Your expired No-Explode stock writes "Close to Expiry! – From expiration date January 2013 ( Lemon Lime ) until March 2013… Tested and verified that it is still good for consumption". 2 months expired is not 'close to expiry'. Make sure you update your page regularly.

  • 10% off is a clearance sale?

I think the argument for Australia is valid only with Bricks and Mortar vs Online.
The fact is with being an online business you put yourself into the global
market place and should be competitive against other global players,
otherwise just shop at iherb as I do. His stock comes from the same place
and there is no evidence to suggest he is has it all on hand anyway i.e. probably imports it from the states
just as I do when the order comes through.

I run an online store and for the most part it is impossible to match American/International prices. Everything costs significantly more in Australia and the cost for us to buy stock is a lot more than it costs for International stores to obtain stock. Aussie stores should only be compared to other Aussie stores. It's up to you if you want to buy locally and pay the premium for a quicker delivery times.

Thats fine just don't expect people to shop with you.
I am referring to selling US merchandise in Australia, if it costs
significantly more here it is because you are loading the margin as well as benefiting from our strong $
Iherb is a competitor and I will shop with them.

People do shop with me because they don't mind paying 10-20% more buying locally and getting their product in 1 day as opposed to 1 week. You're not one of them which is fine, but you clearly do not understand anything about running a business and the costs involved. A strong $ makes minimal difference and minimal advantage compared to how much more we have to pay for rent, added taxes (GST), licenses, higher wages etc.

Prices are the same as everywhere else, the shipping is stupid, and scrolling and navigating the website is a nightmare. No thanks.

I ordered $250 worth of stuff from Iherb last week, got it in 7 days, Ozzy retail value probably looking it around $500 on sale and $700 when it's not on sale. I used to buy blackmores and even swiss stuff from coles and Woolworth when it's on sale, but even 50% these days don't cut it locally when you are ordering from iherb.

    No Thanks!

  • Can you buy protein powders and other supplements like that from overseas stores like iHerb though? Or do they not ship those sort of items? If they don't ship those types of items internationally then buying local makes sense.

    • Yes you can buy protein and other supplements from iherb and vitacost.

      • How come it says "At this time, due to regulations, this item is not allowed to be shipped to your region." when I try to order ON gold standard whey from iherb?
And its like $37 shipping from vitacost, which makes it more expensive than local?!
        Am I doing something wrong?

I see no bargain here only a waste of time.
