  you can check expedia.co.jp deal. a couple of days ago I checked mel(tullamarine) - syd return and cheapest was around $70 return + booking fee of $13 or something.

    Thanks for this tip, I just booked a return flight to Sydney for Cebit from Tullamarine for only $81.26 including credit card fees. That's nearly as cheap as Avalon prices, and in true Ozbargain style, I will attempt for the first time to take the bus from Broadmeadows station to the service road near T4 and walk to T2, as opposed to the Skybus.

    I just wish I could afford to go to Japan, paying in yen just reminded me how cheap it is over there with their currency devalued at the moment.
