The FHD screens on these look fantastic.

Good specs, but poor graphics for a sub $1400~ laptop

Par for the course for an ultrabook

      • +5

Yeah, there aren't a whole lot of 1.36kg 13.3"ers that have a gaming graphics card.

Note that when you go through Starthere, you need to go to the Dell Homepage and select "For Work", then select the "Laptops, Ultrabooks and Tablets" to get this deal. If you go through "For Home" it does not have the deal and it's listed at $1899.

The Home ones come with Windows8, the Work ones come with Windows 7.

  • Was $100 cheaper 3 months ago but 1/2 the SSD size…

    • Yeah pretty close in value, I believe these have MSATA drives so at least $100 extra value there.

Why not use qwibble and get 8% cashback? Brings the price to $1,288.

    • i got less than 8% last time :o

edit: maybe because gst is excluded

I'd wait for the Haswell CPU to come out, much better graphics

Usually, at a much higher price

  • Light as a feather, nice! Great screen too. I wish it had graphics too though. Its not an ultrabook, but my little 12 inch Asus still have an NVIDIA Ion enabled something 450…

    +1 for windows 7 pro

  • I have one of these.

Good to see they now have 8GB of ram.

Mine is i7 , 256GB SSD etc, but last year you could only get 4GB.

I end up rebooting more often than i want.

Other than that ( and the fact it only has 2 USB ports, make sure you get a bluetooth mouse ) , it's a great laptop. Highly recommend it.

    • Didn't think about the Bluetooth mouse! Although I would grab a decent USB3 hub to go with it I think.
FWIW, the price is cheaper than Dell's own Staff Pricing.

  • Just throwing it out there that the XPS12 gets discounted to the same price with the same specs - the difference being the XPS12 is a convertible 12.5" touchscreen, the XPS13 is 13" but not touch. I've got an XPS12 and the touchscreen is actually quite handy.

    • link? I don't see the XPS12 with the same spec at this price.

  • For warranty it says:

"1 Yrs ProSupport : Next Business Day Onsite Service - For Commercial Customers Only"

What do non-commercial customers (consumers) get? Do they get InHome, or Carry-In, or other warranty?

  • Be aware of starthere cash back. I am on a founder membership and they have not managed to track a cash back for the past year. Better off using another cashback website.

  • you can pay $ 1,293 and get a refurbished
