The Art of Flight HD Download $11.99 iTunes

130

Just got my Apple TV running smoothly and was browsing some movies and found The Art Of Flight on there for $24.99.
Pretty good price I thought compared to the Blu ray pricing I had seen of this but I wasn't quite ready to purchase then low and behold I searched its full name and found two HD versions exactly the same but one was $11.99. In my case it works out at $5.98 as I have a few 50% off iTunes cards left.
Here is the $24.99 copy. https://itunes.apple.com/au/movie/the-art-of-flight/id478256…

This is a snowboarding documentary that has fantastic reviews.

This is jaw dropping to watch on a big screen

  • I'm assuming this iTunes copy wont be the same as the blu ray one on a technical level, as well as possibly missing out on the special features. IMO, the blu ray is worth the extra bucks

wish I had a redbull helicopter

  • Awesome awesome awesome doco! Some of the scenes had me on the edge of my seat!

  • Cool.

  • Yep epic snowboard movie - watched this in Canada when it just came out and was awesome. Gets you pumped for the snow. Warren Miller films are good, but tend to be a bit more skiing based. This is more snowboard based - plus crazy extras. (Seems to be showing as $9.99 for me - i haven't bought it though) There's also an "unoffcial" extended trailer (5m 40s - http://youtu.be/TYF71MfHakc) which is pretty schweet, (but gives a bit more away.) If you're wanting to be surprised, just buy it! I'm thinking about it now. Hmm… or scrounge off youtube…if you've got an hour to kill sometime - Red Bull Signature Series - Supernatural 2012 FULL TV EPISODE 6 http://youtu.be/gGQeNiumoes

Also, another good one is All I Can. Enjoyed it too with some awesome time lapse shots. More skiing based and a bit environmental (but i guess snow sports are a bit susceptible to global warming! ;-)) The 'trailer' is 6 mins long, so even if you don't but, it's worth a look. https://itunes.apple.com/au/movie/all-i-can-sherpas-cinema/i…

    • $9.99 is the SD version.

      • Ah - ok, cheers.

  • Good price. I recommend signing up to netflix and watching it on there though, along with the millions of hours of content. Can stream it in super HD if your net is fast enough, which is 1080p. Netflix and Hulu plus have made my Apple TV far more useful. The art of flight making of TV series is also on netflix, really interesting to see how they made it.

    • They also have the behind the scenes for $2.99 HD https://itunes.apple.com/au/movie/art-flight-behind-scenes/i…

This was my first iTunes movie purchase and I plan to watch it on our projector to see how it holds up against Blu ray. I would of hired it on Blu ray but none of my locals have it and at $30+ for the disc I figured what better way to try out a HD download.

      • I would be surprised if you had time to breathe and nitpick when the content is so awesome. Well, based on the trailer anyway!

Actually, you couldn't just test the trailer with your projector?
