FULL DISCLOSURE: I AM THE OWNER OF VEGAS CARDS

Recently Vegas Cards opened its e-commerce site and is offering a standard 28% off prices. This discount will be extended to 38% to OzBargain when entering in the coupon code of 'ozbargin15'. This brings the price down from 6.95 to 4.25 per deck.

We stock cancelled casino cards from the following casinos:
4 Queens
Cosmopolitan
Golden Nugget
Hard Rock
Hooters
Las Vegas Hotel
Palazo
Pleasure Pit
Sahara
Treasure Island
Tropicana
Venetian

These are guaranteed original casino-used decks. What a great way to add extra character or a casino feel to your home poker game or other card game you choose knowing that there is history behind these cards. These decks come in original casino playing card packaging and have the tell-tale diagonal "cut" in the courner.

After these decks were used for a shift, they were cut and/or marked (for game integrity and security), repackaged and sealed, then they are sold this way, the boxes are not in mint condition as this is a used product. As the casinos dont use Jokers in table play they may not be included with these decks and cannot be added/requested if missing.

These decks also make a great gift to keep your memory of Vegas alive.

    yay, handled by gamblers.

    • Thats one way of seeing it, think of it like this, they have history :)

  • what is the postage like

  • Hi,

Postage starts from $2 per deck

  • Where are the markings/cuttings?

    • +1

The cuts are either a 45 deg cut or rounded on 2 opposing corners. The markings are usually done with a black marker down an edge. It really does depend on what method is used at the time.

If your looking at playing "serious" games with these cards, then its probably not going to be the right product. More for novelty/social play.

Im hoping in the future to be able to offer a premium product.

If lack of history and character are not deal breakers then you can buy brand new playing cards for less.

  • +4

You really need price with delivery in the title. in aud$?

  • Are these plastic, plastic coated or paper cards?

    • They are no Kem/Copag plastic coated deck. But they do have a linen finish. Some of the manufacturers are Paulson, US Playing Card Company and of course manufactured for casino grade quality.

You failed to mentioned the shipping cost from US to AU for a 120gm product…. But you are right. Of course they are always going to be cheaper from the source, on top of this you have extended shipping times. Why wait when im able to ship next day?

      Thank you for your feedback.

    • From your link the CHEAPEST you can get a packet of cards from your link is OVER AU$150*. The cheapest you can get a packet of cards from the OP is under $7.

*Yes, you can use a mail forwarder, which means it will be cheaper than $150… but we are still talking about probably $70-$100.

      OP is $7.

      • +3

The link was to show how cheap they are really. Of course getting 1 packet shipped from overseas will be expensive. But shipping aside these things have been marked up 500 percent more than what you pick them up on a holiday for.

Oh and its against Australian law to say Buyer will accept responsibility for damaged goods when sending out orders.

        • Thanks Cardz, I have amended the offending pages now.

Part of the reason why im selling these from a local stock is because of high shipping for small quantities, or perhaps someone missed their chance for a gift when they were over in Vegas. Like I said, I am able to send these items out quickly so people who are interested dont have to wait for shipping times from the US/UK etc.

There are operational costs involved and the price of business isnt free unfortunately, so while you say there is a 500% markup, the reality is that it isnt that much.

I've got a couple of these packs I picked up in Vegas, but from Paris and Bellagio. The quality of the cards is good, and they are alright for novelty value, but I can't see why you would want them other than having them as a souvenir of your casino stay or massive gambling loss/win.

  • I've used cancelled cards before and must say that they are higher quality than any other card I could buy for $5.

The problem is, some Casinos wreck them when they cancel them… others are nicer and still leave them as totally playable. I don't know which ones are which now-a-days!

I seem to recall not minding the ones with a hole through the centre of them, as the cards were definitely all marked equally, the cards still felt really nice and it was a bit of a novelty. Certainly would be happy to play NL Holdem with them again.

It MIGHT be helpful for the OP to identify on their website which cards are better for use and which cards are better for novelty - would necessitate different price-points, but alas, it is something worth considering.

    • Thanks ricee007,

You are correct some decks are more "cancelled" than others, and I have no way of telling but by breaking the seal on every deck to find that out. From my experience to date the "best" ones have been the Hard Rock, Blue Hooters and Golden Nugget decks. Decks with darker backgrounds tend to hide any marks that have made their way to the outside. But on saying this my sample size is small and it really depends on the method that was being used at the time. In short what is better now, may not be better tomorrow.

I hope to be able to provide a premium product where the cards have consistent cuts/no markings but thats a work in progress.

  • You can buy the same decks new in vegas for $2-5

    • I dont think so new. That would be a huge security risk for them. They are normally used and marked as the OP said. Oh and they are normally 1 US each

  • Of course they are cheaper in Vegas, they have them in vending machines in each casino. If you plan to go to vegas, get them there, obviously… If not, then from my experience, these cards are worth it. They are definitely better than your normal/average decks. I have not purchased from " VegasCards " as I got mine whilst there, but if they the same cards - grab a deck, you will appreciate the quality. Always get a comment when using them, just tell ya mates casino gave them to you when you won the Jackpot :P
