Waste of time, added the shipping the charge. truly misleading.
I went ahead with the purchase even though it showed a shipping charge. I have emailed them and will wait and see if they refund the postage tomorrow. I have also screen shotted the offer page with free ship in case I have to go through paypal for refund.

Well, if the seller had only 200 units in stock for this price he will be able to track the purchases easily and refund the shipping costs to everyone who got charged.Let's see how it goes :)

Too late it's sold out i'm getting this when i tried to order. What i fail i tried to order right on 8pm but because of the no free shipping stuffup didn't get it.

That was my attempted first order with Shoppingexpress and didn't turn out too well.

I was also getting all the errors mentioned here, started with shipping getting charged. Tried this again and this time it showed 2 in the cart so got the error SDCZ51-016G-B35S' in stock to fulfill your order …'.
Tried to clear the account and this time it went. I got the receipt without the shipping so i presume this was successful.
Will wait to see if it really comes in the mailbox.

Early bird doesn't catch the worm, because the cart is rigged. Late bird strolls in and gets the discounts, but only if they don't get the above message?they clearly state they have ONLY 200 units! did you expect them to last 60 minutes?
Nope. I only expected the cart to be working at 8pm, with the promised free shipping.
Not unreasonable.mine was working, but i got charged for shipping :)

well, when you put an item in the cart you have a few minutes to complete the checkout, if you don't proceed with the payment they cannot hold it for you forever and it goes to the next buyer(that's how most sites work). if you put it in the cart @8:00 and by @8:30 you haven't completed the payment it's normal to find the no stock message after you update your cart

I did proceed. Rapidly. Well as rapidly as you can given the site was being hammered. That has nothing to do with it.- 8pm. Site starts crawling.
- Item added to cart.
- Item postage is not free. (ie. not working)
- Item postage 'turns free' at some point around 8:20pm or later, only found out by some comments here.
- refresh cart. Item no longer available.
The last step doesn't bother me. I don't care if I missed out. I save $5 or something. Big deal, right?
What bothers me is that what was promised WASN'T there when adding to the cart at 8pm and checking out minutes later. It was only fixed later.
As you know yourself by paying for the postage, the cart was borked. You can waste time with PayPal to save 5 bucks or something; that's fine. Again, I have no problem with that. What I have a problem with is what was promised, wasn't. And then only randomly offered later.
I do understand, and i agree with you about the 8:00 part. but after you waited 20 minutes and refreshed the cart, it normal that you found the "no stock" message cause your item was not reserved and someone else bought it(probably charged for shipping). I hope you understand

It was free shipping just about 20 minutes after the epic hour began. By then it was sold out even though people who had it in their carts right at 8pm missed out because of the no free shipping at the time.
After Checkout and before proceeding with purchase, postage is added as as per other posters. Very disappointing, waited around till 8pm for this dud deal!
The Epic Hour Sale says FREE delivery, but when I add the item to the cart, Shipping cost of $9.85 dollars is added.
Epic fail, couldn't even get to checkout. Time waster.

My overall impression of ShoppingExpress is MORE NEGATIVE than before.
And 'before' there was a 'before', I didn't even know about them, so in a sense not knowing about them was the most positive thing.
You don't need to be a genius to work out that not all advertising is good.
Nor do you have to be a genius to work out that they can totally lie about offering the item to 200 customers.
(Not saying they are, by the way).It could all be a plan for cheap advertising.

ShoppingExpress probably shouldn't run a special on a Sunday night as it appears they did not setup their system properly. Some (maybe All) people not getting free shipping? Hard to get people to fix technical issues on Sunday nights.
I forgot about the deal (wasn't that keen anyway due to the slow write speed).
Purchased an item from ShoppingExpress before (bought an SSD from them), they were okay.
As mauliksoni27 pointed out, DSE was/is selling the same one for $6 - pickup only (very hard to find a store which has it though). My general thought about ShoppingExpress is that their deals are fine if you don't want to go to a store and pick up the item (you want it delivered to you). Unfortunately, that does mean they must offer free shipping, otherwise, there is not much incentive to buy from them.
Just looking through their deals and most of them are rubbish. My favourite is the $100 fuel voucher single use for $100. Not sure why you would buy a single use fuel card for the same amount as walking into the store with out the restrictions.
I suppose it's to ensure that the recipient of the gift actually spends the money drinking the petrol, er, I mean filling up the tank with the petrol. :)
The petrol voucher clearly says "Promotional Product Only - Not for Sale".
I would assume they expect people would not be silly enough to buy one at full price.
Hi all. I also got stung with a postage fee. BUT, I have found the rep really good and I will be judging Shopping Express on how they deal with this issue. I would expect this will all be resolved tomorrow when rep and Shopping Express are back in the office.
So let's see how this issue is dealt with.
EDIT: Just some more reasoning. There was only 200 units @ $4.99, I guess max profit about $1 after postage.
I don't think any company would risk their reputation to make $200 profit.
My guess this was just a stuff up and it will be resolved quickly.
If all else fails, you still have Pay Pal and OzBargain to highlight your concerns.But, I will at least give these guys the benefit of doubt.
P.S. This is Shopping Express, not Shopping Square - Shopping Square are the ones known for problems.
The shop rep will most likely refund all the postage fees. This item can be posted via normal post (letter) - not fragile at all.

Strange, I had no problems with it, it was slow definitely but i paid with paypal and shipping was discounted / removed etc. I only started the purchase around 8:10, it completed around 8:20ish…
If you had of added it to the cart about 8:01pm or 8:02pm you can be sure you wouldn't have got free shipping even though it was reduced to $4.99 product charge. It was only until about 8:20ish that they fixed the issue but people who already had it in their carts with the incorrect postage charge had to first remove it from their cart and re-order it but by then it was sold out by the time you finally got through the checkout. I had it in my cart by 8:01pm but also suffered the incorrect shipping charge fiasco although i was smart enough to notice it and didn't pay it.
The early birds missed out and the late comers got it. Bit unfair for the people who were right there on 8pm and suffered the shipping charge stuffup.

For the early birds - as this deal is pretty popular - it is not 100% guaranteed you can grab the deal even at 8pm sharp. We can only admit and apologized that we made it 100% impossible for early birds to grab the deal. However - we will be doing our best & bring out similarly exciting deals to our future epic hour event and hopefully everyone can grab a bargain from us down the track.
