The Reolink security deals continue with a great price on this NVR, which supports up to 8 PoE cameras at up to 16MP resolution and comes with a 2TB HDD for storage. It ships from Reolink’s Australian warehouse and includes an AU plug. As a quick price comparison Reolink sells the same model via JB Hi-Fi marketplace for $322.99 + Delivery.(jbhifi.com.au)

If you're starting out with Reolink this is an essential part of the kit and you can easily install different cameras to suit your needs. I recommend getting the RLC-833A 8MP Security Camera if you're just starting out, as it provides crystal clear footage paired with colour night vision and person/vehicle/pet detection. I'd recommend swapping out the included 2TB HDD to something larger at some point to store more footage.

Combine with AliExpress Coins, AliExpress Cashback and 19% cashback at TopCashback(topcashback.com.au) for further savings!

  • Checkout with PayPal
  • Select your card with no international fees
  • Click "See currency options"
  • Select USD to bill the card in USD instead of AUD
  • Proceed with checkout

And if you end up taking @Clear’s advice and bundling with the 833A, don’t forget to use codes AUAS50 and REOLINK1793 and a balance of up to 460 coins for an even bigger discount to get US$44.60 off the price US$185.52 or AU$295.17 if you take his safe advice to pay in USD on a fee free card.

Better yet - toss in a couple more cams and use some of the even bigger codes available on the AliExpress and Reolink store pages.

    Thanks again, Clear!

    • How do you use multiple codes in an order. I thought it only takes one code per order

      • +2

Nope, just enter one after the other.

Better yet, if you locate them on the store page or promo page in AliExpress app, you can copy them to your wallet and AliExpress will automatically apply the maximum you are legible for, including their generic codes and store specifics codes, plus any cashback credits and coins balance.

    • Don’t expect anyone to do the legwork but what would be a good kit of NVR and 6/8 cameras? Where are you seeing the discount codes to apply?

  • Nice find, i managed to get the RLK8-820D4-A x4 and the 2TB NVR for $520 AUD last year October with the promotions back then. Happy with it all so far.

  • Hi - will this support 12MP recording - thinking about using RLC-1240A.

Seems to be quite conflicting, 8MP in the title but 12MP in the details. does anyone know/can help

    • +1

Sure does. Can handle up to 16MP.

    • 12MP is fine. It was my mistake as the listing has 8MP camera bundles available and I coped that.

      • Great - bought it- thanks!

  • +4

I'd recommend swapping out the included 2TB HDD to something larger at some point to store more footage.

For reference with 2TB, I get about a week of 24 hr recording with 4x Reolink RLC-811A (4K/8MP Cameras).

Been meaning to replace with a larger hard drive, but been lazy.

I remember reading that even though the NVR only officially supports up to 6TB, you can actually install larger capacity hard drive.

    • +2

Yep. Current version officially supports up to 8TB. But mine and many others are currently running a 16TB Seagate Exos X16. People are having similar successes with WD Purples too.

    • +1

Is it as easy as simply removing the existing hdd and chucking in a new hdd with larger capacity or do I need to be more tech savvy?
I currently only get about a week (I think it's similar set up to yours) and been wanting to get more capacity

Do you know which hardware version the RLN8-410 is?

Seems that some hardware versions don't support 16MP cameras and a few other discrepancies here and there.

      Excellent deal.
Just had mine shipped today (grr timing - purchased on the weekend for $322.99 (with free shipping) using their eBay 15% off code …
Unfortunately I have the original (H3MB16) which wont play nice with my POE doorbell - had a workaround running up until the latest doorbell firmware update which kicked in over the weekend.
Hopefully this is the latest N7MB01 model.

      • Damn that's unfortunate. I supposedly bought one which is H3MB18.

Just wanted to ask - is there anywhere to check physically for the hardware version? Or is this something you can only do on the Reolink client?

        • +1

I asked support before we purchased the POE doorbell camera because we held onto a 4 camera and NVR deal from a while back (prior to building our new house) and they couldnt tell me based on the serial number on the box. Needs to be found through the information menu in the NVR settings once up and running. Ideally they would put it on the packaging box and NVR unit along with the serial information.

    • I would like to know the hardware version as well.

    • The hardware version seems like a crucial bit of information to know.

Specially if you are intending to run this NVR with the 3v duo or 1240A cameras.

A Redditer mentioned they've returned this because it was just too loud when placed in their living room under the TV.

      • +2

Reolink have been shipping the current version N7MB01 for at least the past six months so it’s a pretty safe bet all current orders will feature it.

      • Since it does not include a fan, I can only assume they’re talking about the HDD.

The 2tb Toshibas that came with mine were near silent - and at any rate, most serious users will want to upgrade to at least the biggest officially supported drive of 8tb. If noise is a concern be sure to go for a WD Purple rather than the noisier Seagate Exos or Ironwolf drives.

  • +1

I've always held back as to me wiring it all up around my house would be difficult. How do others manage to hook it all up on a large property ?

    • +2

I've done two installs so far - my property I routed ethernet from a central location up the walls (I drilled holes through the joists and studs and slid in conduit) and throughout the roof and then out the eaves where I wanted the cameras. A family members property I ran conduit all along the outside walls and used round junction boxes (similar to the reolink D20's) to mount dome cameras on the eaves (this way I didn't have to get in the roof).

    Thanks for posting this deal!

Ended up paying about $350 for this NVR and 2x 833A cameras after stacking all the codes and cashback deals. Estimating another ~$20 of AliExpress cashback on top of that too.

Probably could've saved a few more dollars because I couldn't get some of the coupons to work but this is my first time ordering from AliExpress and it was too complicated to figure out in my sleepy state…

I'm looking to add a CX820 down the track but this is enough to get started!

I have Swann camaras installed from a previous setup but now I need a new controller box and hard drive. Will this unit accept the Swann cameras? TIA

    • Depends on if the Swann cameras are POE or not.

  • Also if you connect these to local network and NOT through the NVR can do the time lapse. And use a micro sd card. They also record to the NVR as it finds the cameras on local network. Other cameras can be connected BUT won't record. I haven't gotten them to record. Just some cheapies.

  • Would you guys recommend the NVR or running Frigate on a server and using a NAS to store camera recordings? My gut is telling me the latter and I've heard Frigate has gotten really good lately.

I installed the Reolink PoE doorbell the other day and it's really good so was looking for a nice solution for that. Only the one camera planned so I might just go with the Frigate option

    • Having done both, NVR for sure. Frigate is a much bigger PITA. If you’re happy to stuff about go for it. I couldn’t even easily view my streams on my phone last time I used Frigate because the h265 support was so flakey and there was no dedicated app. Perhaps that has changed?

Either way this is the ‘just works’ version. Frigate provides more flexibility if required. Also uses a lot more hardware to do so though.

      • Thanks for the reply. Looks like I missed the deal so I'll give Frigate a shot and if it's no good might invest in the NVR in the next deal

        • For the best of both worlds, run through a seperate switch and into your NVR. Opens up a whole world of advanced functionality for the cameras which you can read all about in the Reolinkcams reddit forum and faq.

  • I put it in my cart, but then I get a message "Item not deliverable to the selected address" and I can't go to checkout.

Any ideas? Is it still in stock?

  • Price expired

  • It says
This item can't be shipped to your address.
    Please, select another.

Any idea why I'm getting that?
    Location set to Perth

  • "This item is no longer available. It's sold out or the store discontinued selling it. If added to your cart you can still view it under the "Expired items" section." when adding to cart.
The RLC-833A cameras are just about sold out too. Too slow :(

  • +1

Is there a good website or app to plan camera placements on a floor plan or building plan, showing fov coverage etc?

  • Reolink 8CH 4K xx> This item can't be shipped to the selected region. Anyone has the same issue ?

  • It was a blink and miss deal

  • I just purchased this… So it might be back in stock

  • Missed it.. :(

  • Ordered this to replace my existing H3MB16, in order to better support person/car motion alerts. Currently using a workaround with separate POE switch running some cameras separately to get those alerts. They can still record to NVR.

What to do with existing one, prob not worth selling, maybe take the old HDD and add it to new one…

    • Backup one ready to swap out if your primary one dies

  • +1

I just got the 36 channel (no hdd) nvr for $161 which is a very good price. The 36 channel version doesn’t have POE but it supports multiple hard drives and has the latest chipsets/cpu, unlike the 8/16 channel versions in my experience

    • How did you get it to $161? mine comes to $177

    • :/
Unable to ship to location error on the 36ch one
Damn, tried getting one of those before and never seemed to see it in stock/available

  • Does anyone have experience how loud the fan for this is, especially for master bedroom? I have the 16CH NVR and its super loud

    • +1

The some revisions (N2MB02/N3MB01/H3MB18) of the RLN8-410 have no fan - see https://support.reolink.com/hc/en-us/articles/900000509163-I…

I ended up using a NVR12W with the antennas disconnected because I wanted a fanless model and also didn't want to run the lottery as to what version of RLN8-410 I would receive.

The HDD you use will click and spin though - just be aware.

      • How do you power and connect poe cams or do you use wifi cams instead?

      • Thanks!

What's the cheapest price possible for the 4 bullet camera package? Mine is coming to $689 in car, and their website has it for $719, which doesn't seem a huge discount

    • +1

Silent since it does not come with a fan by default, but does have space for a 40mm fan to be added on the for intake or exhaust, notably for anyone mounting in roof cavities or areas with restricted airflow.

There's some info in the Reddit forums and youtube about a Noctua 40mm fan which comes with the right header to plug in directly.

  • Back in stock? Got one - final price after discounts and GST ended up being $208.59.

  • Its such a good deal but didnt realise before it was too late.

  • Anyone know if the other 8ch NVR listed ($327.74 before coupons) is the same model?
(And if all the same coupons apply?)

    • yeah I think it is but doesnt let you buy it.

  • +2

    Back in stock

    • Thanks for the update.
      Managed to grab one

  • +1

Briefly came back into stock and grabbed one :)

    • same here, seems like a great deal without costing a fortune.

  • I'm getting AU$230.93. Has the REOLINK1791 code dropped in value or is it just for me?

    • I think the price of it went up

  • This comes up as 'Build-in HDD: DIY' even when clicking the 2tb option. Hopefully it does actually come with 2tb.

    The Reolink site FAQ says:
"…The number of battery-powered Wi-Fi cameras that can be connected is 12 minus the number of wired IPCs. "
"Please note that a Reolink dual-lens camera occupies two video channels."

Does that mean you could have say 7 POE single lens cameras, and 1 dual lens POE (I'm guessing the other lens is allocated to one of the 'bonus' wife channels, in which case presumably you could have 3 wifi channels left)?

    • Yes it does, but I hope thats just classic aliexpress incorrect information. It says it goes up to 6 or 12 tb so I would assume the 2tb is included because its mentioned prominently in all the images/details.

    • Kind of.

The bonus 4 channels can only be used for any second channel of dual channel cams such as the Trackmix and Duo 2 & 3 or select Argus Solar cams. You can't use more than 8 channels total for bona fide POE or powered wifi cams and doorbell.

      All RLN8 and RLK8 NVR's come with a 2TB drive as standard, the RLN16 & RLK16 come with 4TB and the RLN32 and RLK32 come without a drive.

The current version RLN8 and RLK8 is officially supported up to 8TB and unofficially capable of up to 16TB. If you can find an esata connector, you can even retain the original 2tb drive a secondary external drive.

  • Can anyone tell me the difference between the 2 below? I'm struggling to see the difference. I want to pair it with 811 cameras

    https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005391297462.html?irclic…

    https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32967669961.html?spm=a2g0o.d…

    • Probably European version.

    • Zero difference. Reolink have confirmed that all NVRs shipped out of Sydney come with the AU plug, even ones listed as EU.

They also frequently list the same item under multiple listings at varying pricepoints. Grab the US$155 model and load up on your codes and coins.

  • +3

wow, mine just arrived, that was quick, wasn't expecting it so fast.
On the box, next to the model it says RLN8-410 (V3).
    now to power it up…

    Hardware Ver: N7MB01

    • yes arrived here fast too and I only ordered on Thursday morning! so easy to set up too!

    • Is that the version with no fan?

  • Reolink Outdoor E1 PoE 8mp(aliexpress.com) for $92 seems like a pretty good deal? Feel free to post as a bargain if so, I am lazy

  • Have to say this is excellent! As someone who is a little behind with technology I still managed to set 2 cameras up with this thing, (Still have to cable them in properly) but so impressed with the cameras and this nvr with how easy and how well it works. I am just kicking myself I didnt buy more cameras with the discount, so hopefully theres another good deal soon!
