  • Not bad - I wish we had another Dell family and friends offer to go with it

  • Does the 30 inch require special video card to power it? How does it compare with Apple's 30 inch Cinema display?

I don't know about the second question.

  • AFAIK the 30" Dell has many inputs on it.
    OK maybe not.
    The 27" does…

Dell has a contrast ratio of 1000:1, versus Apple's 700:1

Dell has response time of 12ms versus 14ms.

Apple has standerd DVI input, which will work with most modern graphics cards. DVI-D with the Dell is less common, but not an issue as most cards have dual output, and give you an adapter to use if you don't have a DVI monitor.

I hope that didn't confuse you.
If I had a choice I'd go for the Dell (Just by looking at the specs).

    • Thanks Duke. I think the requirement of DVI-D would rule out most if not all notebook users even with docking stations :(

    • Are both 8 bit?
