Not a bargain at all if you have to settle a home loan with them…..

    • -4

You can always leave them and go with the next bank that offers a deal like this, no one is asking you to sign a 20 year contract with them.

      • It also usually costs to leave a home loan as well. Also the fees…(Press the Fees Tab) totally help this deal.

        • Don't you pay about $600 to change the title of your house???

  • And their interest rate will make that $100 back in how long?

    • Their interest rates were the best when I was looking for a home loan a couple of years ago. Some strict lending conditions was the only reason I went elsewhere.

      • They were also the best when we were looking around a year ago. Although SOME of the others may look better, once the comparitive rate is considered, they're not so good.

We had a ghastly experience with a (not-so) mobile lender, who didn't seem to know his job, but have been quite happy with them since.

  • home loan for 100 bucks?! =_=

dont you have to pay stamp duty for changing home loan providers?
that $200 (if you pool it), isnt going to last long…
or am i mistaken, sorry dont own one

i counldnt resist… just got myself a loan for this bargain of a lifetime….

  • Only $100 gift card for settle of home loan. BAD deal

    • Agreed. Bankwest and Ubank easily beat ME's rates.

      • Ubank only does refinancing though.

  • this is pretty bad considering comm bank offers $700 to switch home loans over to them, and even that wouldnt be enough to convince me

    • This is not about switching loans though, it is about a REFERRAL - totally different kettle of fish.

  • ME Bank has one of the best 3 year fixed rates at 4.99% at the moment. Lot's of banks offering that rate for 2 years but only a couple at 3 years so coupled with the gift voucher it's actually a pretty good deal. The gift voucher by itself is nothing special but it really is quite a good rate. As others have mentioned ME Bank isn't known for their flexibility but is otherwise a good lender.
FYI I'm a mortgage broker so I have ticked the Rep Box but I don't work directly for ME Bank.

  • Not going to get into the argument about how good or bad are the home loans offered by ME Bank.

My proposition is very simple: If you are planning on taking a home loan with them anyway and want to make an extra $100 for getting a product you were planning to use in the first place, I am a ME Bank customer and can arrange a referral. Simple.

    PM me if interested.
