Acer Aspire V3-571G, 15", i7 3630qm, 640M 2GB, 4GB Ram, 1TB - $665 Del.

160

I know this was on sale last month and was about $725 after cashback delivered - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/97665

Saw this on the online JB store $665 Delivered.

Specs:

15.6" Screen - 1366 x 768
3rd Generation Intel Core i7-3630QM 2.4GHz CPU
4GB RAM
1TB HDD
NVIDIA GeForce GT 640M with 2GB Graphics Memory
Wi-Fi and BT
DVD Super Multi
1 x HDMI
1x USB 3.0 and 2x USB 2.0
Windows 8

Don't know if the cashback still applies. I think it's a good deal. All you'd need to do is upgrade the RAM possibly and live by the non high res screen and get a pretty capable laptop of some moderate gaming and number crunching.

EDIT: I am quite sure $99 cashback still applies. Found on : http://ec3.acer.com.au/AcerCashBack/ACA/Projects/CashBack/Lo…. Searched for the model no of the laptop V3-571G-736B4G1TMAKK and it was there valid until June 2013. So, if this is right, the laptop should come out at $566!

edit 2: Seems to have been a pricing error. Sorry folks. You are all welcome to try and get the advertised price but it changes to 799 once you go through checkout/cart. Hmmm, oh well.

Just checked this laptop (NX.RZNSA.007) can get $99 cash back from Acer.

    It means $665-$99= $566. It's the first i7 with 640GT below $600 I have seen…

  • what a bargain

When you try to buy online the price goes up to $798+$27del …

    • same here… never mind, I don't need another computer…

  • You need to cut out barcode from box and send it in with 14 days of purchase, so if Jb dont send it out within that time frame you might miss out on the cash back (card)

  • Anyone find another shop selling this model for price matching purposes? I have some relatives which are not up with the online buying thingo (and they need to badly replace their mega old 486 PC).

Can't find any actually. Quite a bummer seeing that the deal is probably duped anyway since on checkout it shows up as $798 :-(

    • a 486? That is about 20 years behind in computing terms. They might as well stick to the pre-internet DOS era of computing.

      • +1

Their dial-up has just been cancelled (costing the provider too much to run the system for the last user in SA!!) which has prompted the upgrade.

        • I think they're blaming all of those darn changes over at AOL…

  • It seems that there seems to be some error. When you try and actually buy it it just goes to a page with showing $798. So might be a dupe I guess. Could someone try and contact JBhifi or see if they can get it fixed? If no news I'll just mark it expired or something. Scotty!

I suspect the error relates to the current 20%-off JBHIFI special first being applied on the page but then removed when put into the cart.

Yep I have managed to reproduce the in-cart price change for other laptops too. Looks systemic.

  • Don't know how in JB HiFi's world, $665 minus $99 = $615

EDIT: page has changed now to delete reference to $615.

    • Think JB sys-admin was reading this post??? Do they employ people now to watch the professionals in action?

      • +1

They shouldn't have time to read anything but their own web pages!

        • I've marked it as expired. Sadly a pricing error. Someone savvy might be able to try and give it to you for that price instore maybe?

  • Tempted at this price. Will try call up a store, and find out.

    • Factory scoop excluded from 20% sale. Therefore pricing error and doubt brick & mortar stores would have stock anyway

  • Nevermind, think I was looking at another model :(
