Okay, so Kathmandu's "real" prices bear no resemblance to reality ("reduced from $89.99" apparently, but these are still very good hiking poles for 30 bucks.
Have been looking for a pair of hiking poles ever since Mt. Bartle Frere taught me that I'm getting too old not to be using them… Spotted these online on the Kathmandu website but was a little sceptical they might be, well, crap. They're not.
There aren't many other retailers carrying these but they seem to be going for 40 pounds each on Amazon UK (just under $60 Australian) which would be a slightly more sane RRP. Again, 30 bucks? Bargain.
Edit: I got the bloody name wrong. Fizan it is.
Interestingly, only one of the 6 they had on the rack was marked down to 30 bucks, but I bought two and both rang up at the lower cost (although I did point it out to the sales assistant).
Found something similar, cheaper, but no doubt lower quality. :-)
