    QUN? It should be QLD.

Hey OP, I'm moving and in the market for a new provider (currrently Dodo).

Unfortunately, the NSW offer is the same as AGL's regular deal - http://www.agl.com.au/home/pricing-and-tariffs/EPFSDocuments…

As far as I can tell, it's one of best offers on the market. Dodo is the same price, and give you discounts 7-15% for paying on time, but don't give you credit (AGL offer $150), and Dodo only give you 24.4c for the first 1000kWh, AGL do it for the first 4000kWh before it goes up to 25.5c.

Dodo are slightly cheaper on their supply rate (60.9c versus 62.8c) but because they have a higher threshold, you save money (+the credits)

Offpeaks are the same, so in summary, this is good deal (although I'd go direct). Even getting out of 2 year contracts, moving house/relocating, in my opinion, are far prices (it's not like they have to do much anyways).

  • Not a deal but I thought I'd share. Called Origin after I set up electricity with them and asked for a discount. Got 11%, which is nice.

      Is it nice?

11% off does not mean its the cheapest option.

Compare the actual cost. In cents/kWh + any additional costs. That's all that matters.

      • I thought so, I agreed to a price with Origin, after a phone call the price was reduced.

Living in Queensland I am under the impression retail prices are set by the Government, so all I can get is discounts. I'm not 100% sure of this though.

I don't quite understand charges by electricity companies…

Make sure you compare the rates and forget any marketing slang like "% discount" (which actually means ignore all "information" in the first post), eletricity sellers are sheisters and the tricks they use to imply things are horrendous.

    • except what you say doesnt apply to NSW

all the rates are regulated and the same

only the daily connection fee + connection/disconnection + discount matter
      get your facts straight

      • I dont live in NSW. Hell, how am I supposed to know that?

Matter of fact, I dont even have a choice in my energy supplier. I just know a lot of the tricks.

Click Energy has higher usage rates for QLD. The 9% discount makes them almost exactly the same price as the AGL standard rates….. is this to trick customers into going with click energy?

Ages ago someone posted a AGL 10% off deal.

And to this day I still can't find a better deal in QLD.

I would have thought you could get more then a 10% discount somehow.

    • i am with click energy… last time i looked they were the cheapest and included GST in their tariffs but agl excluded it? what price are you currently paying with agl?

      • Peak @ $0.23720
        Tariff 33Controlled @ $0.16000

My bill includes GST and this indicates that these rates include GST.

        • cool - thanks. i had a look at my click energy invoice from jan 2013 (click quick plan).

including gst & after 7% discount, my rates are:

          peak tariff 1: 23.60c / kWh
          tariff 33: 15.95c / kWh
          daily charge: 28.78c

        • As you can see, no saving really…

Can someone educate the thread about Victoria vs All in terms of fixed pricing. I don't have the energy.

  • Another offer from Click energy that might interest those in QLD (and possibly other states):

Click Honeymoon - 15% discount for 12 months.
    http://www.clickenergy.com.au/our-energy-plans/click-honeymo…

    Cons:
$110/month charge then they calculate the difference from the quarterly bill so you have to pay some each month - probably not ideal if your bill is less than $330/quarter.

    Pros:
No Credit Card surcharge - this works out at an extra 1% over AGL if you pay via CC
    No lock in contract
Can use with solar - AGL's plans are terrible for those with solar!

I thought that the price was regulated in QLD and when I tried to compare rates I can find Click Energy's on their PDS:
    http://www.clickenergy.com.au/downloads/customer/ClickHoneym…
But for the life of me I cannot find AGL's price on their website??
