Prometheus killed a good story….
I don't think Prometheus has any thing to do with Aliens
I didn't find Prometheus to be that bad. If you were looking for a TRUE prequel to Alien then you have looked at the wrong place. Prometheus was more a side story set in the same universe as Alien.

The final alien to burst out of the chest was an alien, like from the alien movies. Its DNA contains Human and Promethean DNA. The information is available online to confirm it.

- it explains how the ship crashed
- It explains the origin of the "alien" creatures
- It has freaky aliens in it
What more people could expect from a prequel to Aliens I don't know :-P
