design is not the same as ASUS VivoBook X202E as last week deal, right?
because ASUS VivoBook X202E is not slim at all.
good price! hn and jb has 800+I have the same model and like it except for the screen reflections and poor viewing angles.
correction in specs: 1 x USB 3.0 and 2 x USB 2.0
It really seems to be a good deal considering JB has it for 846.60 after 15% off http://www.jbhifionline.com.au/computers-laptops/laptops/asu…
Does anyone find the touch screen useful in windows 8?
Is touchpad/mouse faster to get around?touch screen is the only thing that make window 8 a viable OS, window 8 without touchscreen is pretty bad
i dont think so, remember there is keyboard stands between you and screen so its not as convy to swipe your fingers as in tablets. i use win 8 but remove (hide) all the metro stuffs and use it just like win 7 before but with much faster startup/down, stronger wifi, etc (this is on the same laptop so im comparing apple with apple)
^this.
There is absolutely no need for a touchscreen if you are not that way inclined.
I use Win8 on my tablet and Win8 on my non-touch PC and find it great in both formats. The fullscreen metro apps and live-tiles do have benefits whether you are using a touch panel or not. Apart from the start-screen there are improvements all around with regard to performance and stability.
Looks good to me but too bad just purchased hp sleekbook from last deals:'(
2.88KG for a ultrabook, that's heavy.
It is the packaged weight, the ultrabook weighs 1.88 kg according to the review posted above by 'highdealer'
Definitely 1.8kg(ish) we bought one for my sister about 2 weeks back
1,366 x 768 makes it major lose for the money
should i buy this or the hp pavilion from officeworks?
Oh that hurts….just bought one of these from JB HiFi for my sister two weeks ago for $850. It was needed immediately as it was to replace a laptop that died suddenly that was being used for work.
It says it's $899 when the link is clicked! Has this deal expired?
Yes it has expired - I believe it was a one-day deal
This seems to me to be a pretty good deal, anyone had any hands on experience with this model? interested in any real users feedback
