Just called bing lee customer service again, was told that my item would be sent tomorrow and that I would most likely not receive it until the end of next week. I hope they actually send it this time.

If i ever order anything from bing lee again, i will make sure i order a couple of months in advance to make sure i get it on time, lol.

Everything I've ever ordered from Bing Lee has been shipped promptly.

I would imagine at this price, the demand…thus numbers moved…would have been pretty overwhelming, it's only natural that a few logistical mistakes would have occurred. It's just unfortunate for you that you were that statistic! ;)

    • Davey

We have shipped all orders. If you have any issues please call 1300980399 and we will follow up for you. We did get a lot of orders for this model but I'm very sure we shipped everything quickly.

      • Hi Rep,

Can you please confirm that my order (100043067) made on 10/3 has been shipped? Thanks :)

        • Davey
Customer service have the details. Best to call them on 1300980399 or email them on [email protected] for an update

      • Still tempted to get one of these, my issue is delivery, any chance we can pick a day? (I'm in Melbourne)

        • Testeagle. The courier will call you to advise a delivery day in advance so as long as it is Monday to Friday you should be ok

        • Fair enough, I finally committed and bought it.

        • +2

Not true. The courier did not call me at all, and just leave a card in my mailbox, and I need to call them back!

        • This happened to me too, despite Bing Lee or the insurer leaving a note to say call first before delivery. For free, you can pick a business day and sit at home from 7-4pm (but if you ask, they give you a 2 hour time frame).

        • Well I got the TV yesterday, no call from courier, allied express site had previously said "Proof of Identity scanned" funny enough no one was home and the TV was sitting on my door step, if I was geared that way, I could easily of claimed the item was not there when I arrived and claim against insurance as "lost in transit".

        • testeagle how did u go with that. i put that on my list did not happen. i love my new TV BingLee

      • Hi again Rep,

I can confirm that all orders have not been sent.

I just got off the phone to bing lee customer service and was once again told that my item has not been sent today, when I asked why it had not been sent I was told there were no problems with the order, it's just they don't know what is going on out the back sometimes and it might be the courier companies fault.

So changhongers, I'm wondering if I have a crappy remote sensor. Remote has to be pointed very accurately to register with tv.

Also sometimes there seems to be remote lag, with the set freezing up and not responding at times ( short duration but stuffs up universal remote functions with my harmony 650).

Plus no option to rearrange digital channels.

    • lol changhongers!

maybe this TV needs a decent ~$50 set top box? I wouldn't bother trying to resolve the problem if it really is that catastrophically slow and irritating.

    • Yes I agree the remote control sensor / or remote is very laggy. Sometimes takes a few tries just to press one button. I did call Changhong directly and all they said was to point the remote control to the left of the TV where the sensor is supposed to be. Not happy.

    • My remote control situation is also a big disappointment. Not sure whether its the remote or the sensor but it sucks bad. Anyone have any solutions? How 'bout the logitech harmony?

      • Harmony is dependent on being able to send multiple commands one after the other quickly. This doesn't gel well with the sketchy remote reception.

I'm finding its more to do with the tv menus freezing up or getting bogged down, when this happens the remote sensor on the tv refuses to respond with a flash and you need to hold off for a few seconds. This of course bollocks things up for the harmony remote.

Punch in a crapload of commands quickly and you will see what I mean.

I told changhong that the menus were freezing up and they told me they would forward this issue to a technician and have a patch sent when it was fixed. I suggest you too lodge a call, you'll get right through and it will highlight the issue that little but more.

Also mentioned that at times the audio is out of sync to the tv picture. Turning it on and off or changing channels fixes this and it only seems to happen occasionally on 1080i channels.

  • anyone else having issues with wireless pw with numbers and characters, I cant seem to get the letters to type in after the numbers.
it is abit clunky, the smart feature! :/

    • There is a screen keyboard button that lets you change to numbers, etc. I missed it too.

Your much better off hard wired over wireless.

  • Would this be able to get ABC iView on it?

  • what about flash support guys?
i just found out, it wont load my NBA league pass which sucks so TV is no good to me! ;/

im hopping there is a firmware update or some sort, anyone know?

  • I ordered mine yesterday and have just received a phone call from them saying that they're out of stock and that more will arrive at the end of the month.

Ah, and I've also done a calibration on the colour, can post if interested. Bear in mind calibrating for tv is tricky vs blue ray.

    • Please do!

So, in terms of setting up your picture it seems my TVs 'User' setting, that only one customisable, saves settings unique for each input. I.e. You set it for FTA and then for HDMI 1 separately. I find this useful as different devices often need different settings.

    Soooo,

    Free to Air
    Contrast - 67
    Brightness - 52
Color - 43 (Some wiggle room here for your preference)
Sharpness - 23 (Feel free to drop it to zero if your a sharpness nazi)

    Color temp - R 51, G 51, B 43

    Xbox 360
    Contrast - 67
    Brightness -53
    Color - 43
    Sharpness - 27
(aspect as PC mode so you get the full scan

    Colort temp R 51, G 50, B 45

Xbox was set to - (Expanded color levels, YCbCr709 (Important)) HDMI hookup by the way.

Blue Ray Player, LG (YCbCr color profile set on BlueRay [Important])
    Contrast 67
    Brightness - 52
    Color 43
    Sharpness 0

    Color temp - Normal

Now, these settings will not be perfect, I'm not sitting here in tinted glasses getting the skin tones just right but I have gone through some calibration disks. These just help make things much clearer and nicer. White whites and black blacks. By default the TV was too bright and also didn't have the best black fidelity or whatever your meant to call it. This fixes that. You might not like the color settings so feel free to mess with it. Not sure how the blue ray inputs are comparative to other blu rays so your mileage may vary there.

Note with FTA it may help to kill your sharpness right down on noisy channels (ABC24 is a shocker for instance). Also I've left of the noise reduction for all these.

    Cheerio.
