Just came across this on IT Estate after looking at another deal. Most likely a pricing error but worth a shot.

  • most definitely a pricing error, im guessing it should be $139.. but ordered anyway

    • No, only "possible" lol.

  • What will happen if they don't fulfill the orders but people have already paid? Refund back onto credit card?

  • +1

No Paypal? I don't think they will honor the deal like NSCOM last time they just said no stock.

  • -7

some what a dupe from here http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/95782

  • The site already seems to be slowing down. It's definitely a pricing error though…

  • wasting your time. Dodgy computer stores dont give a toss about honouring mistakes

  • +6

Yeah I wouldn't bother, they wont depart with the stock for that price. Just going to be headaches when it comes to getting your money back….

  • -4

Definitely no chance they'll honor it if you post it here for everyone to see.

  • +13

    professionals, start your engines!….

  • ordered as bank deposit
ill pay if they honour its not a pricing error

    • How did you select a suburb? That's what I'm stuck on…

      • +1

        last past autofilled details
then i just tabbed everything until it came up

  • Why the -ve ? The OP did his best for us even if the dale did not honer
    Thanks OP

    • haha cheers!

    • +3

People neg the deal, not the OP

  • wow, fantastic pricing error missing $100, no way they'll do it though, they'd lose hundreds of thousands $

  • +10

IT Estate are never going to honour this, not worth your time guys.

    • +3

Bet you ordered like 10 of them huh?

      Orders 20

      • If I believed there was the slightest chance of ITE backing this price, I wouldn't have stopped at just 10 :)

But no, I didn't order any. I don't feel like losing my money for a few days.

  • i cant seem to get past registration keeps saying incorrect check code

  • Cheapest 3 teradactyls I've ever bought. Doubt they'll honour but hey, you've got to be in it to win it :)

  • they are on to it.

Site looks very unsecure…. I used my credit card with the lowest limit…and I dont even know if it worked as the server / payment kept timing out.

Either ill get charged 3 times or not at all

    • +4

      It's not a contract if it's a pricing error….

        • +5

If they take payment it is a contract.

ACCC disagree, if it was a genuine mistake… It's happened before…

Thanks for the post JV - this gets into the grounds of "Sufficiency" and there are different opions across the jurisdications on this. In my case with Lenovo we were talking about a 20% difference so they had no chance.

        • +4

          http://www.smallbusiness.wa.gov.au/business-contracts/

Even if the four essential elements are present a contract could in be invalid if:

The contract involves misleading or deceptive conduct, mistake, duress, undue influence, unconscionable conduct or other categories that at law can cause the contract to be avoided.

        • +4

SEE, there is the law to protect businesses from people like you, you know it was a price error and yet you still order 10. You can try your luck but there is no reason to fight for at the first place.

Well, you should check this hardly normal price error, http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/89032

          Good luck then

        • ^ the Harvey Norman saga wasn't a price error it was a malicious and intentional act to load test their servers a few hours before the boxing day sales.

    • +1

Your armchair lawyering is only considering common law, statute overrides common law: there is statute in place that states that a genuine pricing error will not create an enforceable contract.

    • +2

Back to the armchair till next time I guess.

    • "I have received confirmation that NAB has charged my credit card for 10 x drives."

You certainly are an armchair something.

    • Thanks - always happy to be corrected :)

    • Depends entirely on the terms of the contract. For example, the Harvey Norman web sites terms state that the "offer" comprised an order placed through their web site and money received in their bank account.

They can still not accept your offer at that point and state that they will refund you if they decide to not accept your "offer". This is why they were able to weasel their way out of their last pricing error on the Asus notebook.

Moral of the story is, read the fine print or you may be caught out.

  • problem loading page.

  • Loads but was slow.

  • cant even login even i got existing account

    • finally made my order…

did anyone check how much will it cost for postage for 1 hdd? or 2 hdd?

      • +2

        $100 per disk…

        • +1

it charged me $300 for postage… how did u get $100 such cheeeeeap price??

  • +1

Looks as if OzBargainers have crashed the site :)

    • Yes. Either that or IT Estate has panickly taken down the server to stop people ordering it.

  • I have never seen this site soooooooooooo slow lol

  • Still $39. And over on the right hand side of the screen under Related Products it's got the same Toshiba 3TB internal HDD at $146. I think the price is meant to be $146.

They've sold 622 hard drives so far. I hope they've got plenty of stock to go around!.

    • $39 and $146, how could they make a mistake like that

  • Ordered 8. Payment by bank deposit. We'll see what happens.

  • Ordered 2. Made the bank take some of the risk by using CC.
I'll be so stoked if this goes through :D

If not, I'm prepared to go to war, armed with my keyboard and gmail till I get my moneies back >:D

  • I ordered mine for pickup I am ready for a fight lol

  • Damn, I'd love 10 of these at that price. But I don't have the time to deal with getting my money back from them.

  • +2

    Quote from JV's link:

"A reasonable person wouldn't say they're entitled to the product,"

    • +6

We are Ozbargainers, reason went out the window a long time ago.

  • Sorry, We cant support delivery to the entered zone (Adelaide)!

    • +3

      the Twilight zone ?

    • Well, I'm also from adelaide and I've ordered 2.
      Maybe try again?

  • I'll give it a go.

    • Same. Am actively looking for a 2TB / 3TB drive for the HTPC, so worth a shot.

  • Ordered and pickup. No payment details required.

  • Yeah i very much doubt that IT Estate is going to honour this. Going by the correct price of $146 they're making over a $100 loss on every hard drive. On every 100 hard drives that's a $10,000 loss.

    • -1

You need to know their cost price before calculating anything.

  • Ordered 6, paid using bank transfer finger Cross

  • Ordered 2, waiting for what will happen, they sold 723pcs so far.

  • someone will get fired tmr :(

    • I hope not…
At least this can be a lesson for them..

  • I submitted my order and selected CC (Full Amount) but the pop up for payment didn't pop up so now in my order status i cannot select pay now.

Did however submit a new order hence why i know there should be a pop up for payment.

  • +1

    723 pcs * $100 loss = $72,300 loss in a night and still counting…

    • 751 pcs now. $75,100 loss.

I just can't see IT Estate honouring this pricing mistake and with this kind of loss. Oh well.

Correction: That's now 787 pcs sold.

Won't be long until they're up to the hundreds of thousands of dollars loss.

      • +1

No way they will honor it you guys want them to close down.

    • -1

They had a sale on earlier today to which they sold almost 400 units, so you need to take that figure out when looking at what's been sold with this pricing error.

Edit: damn clicked rep tag and I'm not.

  • why bother :) I saw the price a few hours ago from clicking the previous 139$ deal and instantly thought it would either be out of stock or pricing error

  • ordered 3…

awesome publicity for them im sure they have 100's of new people sign up tonight.

  • +6

    lol why even bother, seriously.

    • qantas frequent flyer points with CC transactions :)

  • How can there still be stock showing, surely this has been Ozbargained!!!!

    • Supply stock count says there's 6074 hard drives available. That amount of hard drives is a $607,400 loss at $100 loss each.

      • +2

Or a $236,000 profit prior to closing up shop and skipping the country? :)

  • I will take a punt here and say that it won't be honoured, but if IT Estate are smart they'll try to appease the masses by offering a $10 or $20 credit towards your next order.

    • +2

"I will take a punt here and say that it won't be honoured."

A dead cert is hardly a punt.

  • +1

So its still running on there web site after 2.5 hours, very odd.

  • Sales are ticking over 1000 units now…

    • +1

even if it were legit. there's no way they'd have that many, nor be able to source that many

  • Ah well, a bit of excitement for the night anyway. I haven't gone ahead and ordered one, but best of luck to all who did. I flew from Baltimore to Iceland for $80 many years ago on a massive pricing error late at night, so stranger things can happen. Still, that was a large airline, and this a smallish company so I suspect the chance is zilch.

  • "Dear Sir or Madam,

Thank you for shopping online at IT Estate, we have received your order ##########.
All the goods you required will be prepared immediately.
If there is any change for this order, we will inform you by email.
Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any further enquiries.

    Thank you.

    Kind Regards,
    IT Estate"

Hahahahah, what's the bet they'll send out 1000 emails tomorrow morning saying that there was a pricing error.
Poor work experience kid. Guess what his job will be tomorrow.

  • Orders will most likely get $5-$10 discount if they order the same drive at the corrected price. Or ITE honors the deal and claims bankruptcy shortly afterwards.

Either way, admins are gonna be busy as hell today

  • So hard to resist ordering a bunch… I know its not going to happen. But how would you feel if you wake up in the morning an discovered the were honoring the orders… could you imagine, getting an email saying its been dispatched.

EDIT: Wow it just jumped from 994 to 2049 pieces sold, either some massive orders have been placed in the last 10 minutes or the system is screwy. My bet is on the later.

    • +2

      BRODEN IS BACK…..

  • +1

This is obviously a pricing error, why would you even post it as a bargain (especially when the actual, legitimate sale has already posted)? More to the point, why would you want to take advantage of an honest business' simple mistake, merely for your own personal gain?

This extreme OzBargain attitude is more than a little baffling.

    • It's human nature and it ain't pretty.

  • +1

Price just changed to $139, 2073 pieces sold

  • Sites offline now.

  • Site isn't even responding now. Looks like IT Estate may have panickly taken it offline.

  • +2

Site is running again and yes it's indeed back to $139. But it's saying 2049pcs sold.

Actually the amount of pieces sold seems to be going down gradually. Looks like they're removing the orders. lol

Told you they wouldn't honour it. You all just wasted your time. No hard drive for you come back next sale.

  • +1

Heh, down to 980 sold and dropping. Seems like the events of this evening are getting undone.

  • +1

It was indeed a pricing error as evident that the sold quantity is dropping away.

  • +1

    yep still going down

    851pcs

  • It's probably their buy price, -gst & mark-up !!! = $139.
Google it, and the cached page from back in Feb, shows $139. lol

Good to follow the "professionals", get caught in a "HardlyNormal" net.
Thanks for posting, kept me up, so only have 4hrs of sleep now. Zzzz.

    • +1

going to be less sleep for the person removing the orders

      827pcs
