Really? It was obvious from the start that it was a pricing error and yet you want compensation? They are refunding money today so it's not as if they have inconvenienced you in any way.

        • +3

And it's more like we've inconvenienced them!

hehe lucky I didnt bother wasting my time ordering…

  • Well..at least they have put the detail on their website about the error and subsequent cancellations and refunds. Going to keep them busy today! http://www.itestate.com.au/pages/websiteinformation/wbi_news…

  • Even at $139 it's still quite a good price

Well - as an armchair lawyer they have entered into a contract given there is:
    - Invitation to Treat (the website advertising)
    - Offer (this is our placing the order)
    - Acceptace (this is confirmation that they have accepted it)
    - Consideration (eg if you transfer the $ / charge the CC etc)

I have received confirmation that NAB has charged my credit card for 10 x drives.

I cant wait to see jmone fight ITEstate, hopefully he got his 10 x drives (might need to pay an extra $1000 for that 10 x drives)

If the retailer refunds, you don't have a leg to stand on according to Fair Trading and other bodies. We have pathetic laws in this country to do with online selling. Until laws come in giving a guarantee of online price listed, we keep getting scr*wed over and over.

      • I think you are pushing it. Hey, everyone made mistakes, it may happen and imagine it wul dbe you or your wife doing this typo. Would you really like to be liable for ~800x $100 difference?

      • +2

How do genuine mistakes translate to you 'getting scr*wed over and over'?

I love people that act like it's their birth-right to be entitled to benefit from people's genuine mistakes.

        • -4

In life people normally pay for their mistakes - IT Estate just apologises and walks away….

        • +5

The only reason you're defending this point, is because you would be the one 'getting paid' by this. The world doesn't revolve around entitled consumers, and IT Estate should not have to kowtow to childish demands made by people looking for nothing more than to take advantage of them.

Let's face facts here, there were no innocent intentions in buying one of these obviously mistakenly-priced drives. IT Estate should not have to 'compensate' (seriously, what have you done that deserves compensation, at all?) empathy-lacking vultures who think of nothing more than the content of their wallet.

        • +2

Mind you they didn't just 'apologise and walk away' they are trying to process 800+ refunds that never should have been in the first place… It's like someone accidently made a spill on the floor and then other people unecessarily made a total mess of it and then forcing the first person to fix it all up afterwards.

OP should have just reported it to them in the first place.. I don't see why this should be classed as a bargain at all. Makes a mess for the party involved and for everyone else who follows into it.

    IT Estate are really useless!!!

I did 2 separate orders and they just refunded me on 1 but in my it estate account they have removed all orders.
They don't answer their phones either!

    • after finally getting in contact with them they had to ask accounts to refund me and they didn't know if they refunded me or not.

      /sigh

      • LOL…. U never should have bothered to buy in the first place…. 800+ refunds, one is bound to be lost and a lesson to be learnt :p

        Hopefully you get yours back.

guys dont get too harsh with them, I think that is a pretty good effort them actually making a page on their website speciffically for this… Posting on here and working through 800 orders…

For one I am quite impressed…

  • I didn't get any reply, they just cancelled my order, now I can't find any information on their website. Hope I can get my money back.

      All the information is there..

Thanks to espcookie for posting it

      • It would be nicest if they sent people a quick email saying that their orders had been cancelled, with a link to this web page. As it was, my order was just cancelled, with no notification of any kind. Mistakes happen, I personally have no qualm with the order being cancelled in this case, since the price did look really good and it appears to have been a genuine error…. but they need to explicitly tell people that, don't just silently cancel the order, and assume they're going to scour your web site to find some page with no link in the order status.

        • fair point and i agree… BUT i am hoping / assuming the way they worded their website was that a refund would be automatic.

but yeah i get your point, im a little unsure whether im suppose to contact them or not as I cannot even supply my order no since its been deleted. Will wait a day or two and see if a refund appears

  • anyone got their refund yet?

    • looks like mine was just processed then as i got the reciept.

      • thanks ill keep checking / waiting :p
