i don't think they're actual courses to complete and get something back for.
it seems its just a selection of lecture slides in PDF across the wide range of subjects in MIT.
They're past-years lecture notes from actual courses, so the information may be outdated as well.
Horses for courses - pardon the pun here. Nor are they offering classes for 2010. These are free. While not great if I want to get recognition for the study I do, if i just want to get more knowledge then this is a valuable post.
isn't Wikipedia better for getting knowledge-wise??
Have you looked at the site and done a comparison of what is offered in these lectures versus whats on wikipedia?
It may all be in wikipedia then why use wikipedia when you can just google - so the argument never ends. Its just organised differently.
But considering this is free also, its like saying a bus is like a skate board both get you there. Each has its advantages depending on the circumstances
Isn't wikipedia, an 'encyclopedia' edited by whoever wants and largely obsessed with pop culture, better than university level courses from MIT?
If you have to ask…
Heck, if we're talking about non-award, learning for learning's sake, even the University libraries are better. Most are open to the general public and free to use and should have everything from advanced high school level and beyond in there.
Hmmmm wikipedia or MIT??? As a student I will use these to supplement my course material especially from the not so proficient at speaking English math lecturers. Thanks for the post
This could be great for uni students.
Damn, no IT :(
