  • How do you use the 3D accelerometer on this device? Lift and tilt the TV?

    • +3

      3D acceleration != 3D accelerometer

      • +1

Oh I see. Hardware 3D video acceleration. Silly me.

throw it like a giant Frisbee

I think you could get a USB extension cable so the device could be strapped to the top or bottom of your TV, that way you could use the camera for Skype video calls, not sure of the video quality though….
However I think this is about $20 too expensive to be classed as a real bargain.

Its not $20 too expensive. This is about the right price. But yes, I agree, this it not cheap enough to be a bargain.

    • need a HDMI extension cable to do that ;)

    seems ok…

FYI guys, my mate bought the Rikomagic mk802iii http://www.cloudsto.com/dual-core-rikomagic-mk802-iii.html(same chipset) and it frame drops on HD media.

Don't get me wrong these little pocket monsters are sooo tempting but yeah if u know a mate that has one ask or check it out yourself.

    • Which is odd.

because my rockchip tablet of the same sepcs doesnt, and my MK802II (the earlier one) on the TV also doesnt….

      How odd.

  • So this thing - I just plug it to a monitor and it becomes a big Android device? Or is it something totally different?

    • If you can USB power this thing, then yes.

  • I just love these little devices. I have a Minix Neo G4, and it is great! Very stable, doesnt heat up. Plays videos without any problems.

    • Best of all the Minix Geo can run XBMC with hardware playback (still a little buggy)

I would wait for the rk3188 Quad Core players that are going to hit the market in the coming months.
and its not hard to find this player under $50 if you look

  • Hey guys bit of a noob here.. All I want is a device to play all video formats on my cheap toshiba lcd (HN deal).. I have an apple tv, mac, ipad, android tabs and phones.. streaming on apple tv from the mac doesnt work well as the wifi keeps dropping out… So i usually connect the mobile with a mini hdmi to the tv or connect the laptop to the tv but the setup is too messy.. Will this device solve my purpose or should I just get a WD media player?
    Thanks

    • Weakest link is likely to be your wifi, this player does not have the most stable wifi, but copy the files to a USB stick or MicroSD card and it will play them flawlessly, I have the WD as well and I its not free of problems but I can say wifi is rock solid, and has no dramas playing files off my Windows Media Center or NAS. I have heard reports that this model player can have issues with some USB hard drives (not enough power via the usb), the WD has no such issues I have tried 7 2.5" drives so far and they all work.

      • Thank you.. Yeah I think its WiFi as the modem, Mac and apple TV are in different corners of the house.. Might try power line..
