If you are 18+ the pack the HDD with all sorts of interesting videos they found on the internet.
Reminds me of a mail-order shareware catalogue back in the day. Among the hundreds of listings for games/utilities/etc., it always featured one disk with the description "pictures of beautiful women". Must've been pretty lame by today's standards, being limited to 1.44MB, but I'm sure plenty of guys ticked the box next to that one :)
$159.03 for me…..?
$159.03 for me…..?
I guess one needs to enter the 'code' "OZBARGAIN" somewhere?
use code OZBARGAIN at checkout (last page before you submit your order)
Market Deals website comes up with an AVG security threat on my PC.
Something to do with Java.
This was also reported here: http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/93898 2 weeks ago.
The site, according to AVG, is infected (malware). Any details you enter may be stolen as a result, and your computer may be infected also.
Not sure what the deal with AVG is but we have been getting reports from users regarding AVG with other sites as well. Seems like it's throwing false positives as it's not coming up in other programs.
Norton also has a problem with it, so it definately isn't isolated. The rep hasn't addressed these concerns as far as I am aware.
I have the same problem with Kasperky. dectect some sort of Trojan (seem to definitely have something)
It's been long time I have encountered such problem with website and the first time with ozbargain link
Only eight in stock? Does this qualify to be posted?
Cool, thanks.
I do not feel very comfortable putting my credit card details when the site is not encrypted…
No https or SSL is a big no-no.
you can pay by bank deposit and they offer pickup
My trust in the retailer would already be well gone before even remotely considering bank deposit.
I would never use bank deposit unless I completely trusted seller. At least with credit card you can initiate a chargeback if the merchant screws you over.
Wasn't it $113 from amazon last week?
Correct…they are only matching the earlier deal which was $130 ish.
Lack of SSL aside, placed order for the 2TB and also a 1TB WD portable drives.
Will be paying by direct deposit tomorrow morning.
I got the alert on Avast, no chance im buying from there.
Why bother when you have Amazon.
+1 . Avast prompts for malware warning.
I think this deal is over, it came back with "This coupon could only be used 8 times." on my order.
No payment encryption, and on top of that they also have your date of birth. What a joke, stay away from this shonky site.
hmmm………see below my comment
sorry guys removed the date of birth feature on our website, we use that to offer our customers a special gift voucher on their birthdays. Not sure why the coupon can only be used 8 times, ive added some more.
No encryption
Okay, I walked into ANZ to deposit the funds. What an interesting situation…
The staff advised me against depositing the money!
Supposedly the account names I had provided were not associated with said account. No 'market' or 'perfume'.
The staff member did not want to divulge much information but did mention that it was a private individuals account.
Rep, if you're monitoring. Please advise?
I assume you've clicked "report" under the deal and advised mods accordingly?
We've banned the site pending resolution of technical issues. I've changed the link on this deal as well.
Not sure what to make of the bank issue. The public ABN information states it's called Perfume Paradise (sole trader Tony). What's the bank details they gave you?
we have two company trading names registered under the same abn. Marketdeals and Perfume Paradise
Ive not had any issues with deposits so far, ive had multiple people order and paid via bank deposit
I was a little worried because the lady at the bank would not recommend that I deposit.
She even spoke to her supervisor on whether I should deposit or not.
Just for completeness, she asked me for the Account Name several times, I had Marketdeals and Perfume Paradise written on a piece of paper.
I asked the lady several more questions until she mentioned that the account was under an 'individuals name'. She told me to go find out from the business before depositing.
The account name. If you could provide that, I am willing to continue with my order.
After which I would report back here.
As for the technical issues regarding malware, I'm getting mixed results
Google - Safe
Comodo Safe
Norton - No analysis done
hphosts - No threat
Unmasked Parasites - Clean
Virus Total - No issues based on 33 website
AVG - Threat in the last 7 days
AVG and some of the others are a bit misleading. If we take Marketdeals to be unsafe, then Facebook must be insanely unsafe 48 threats found Amazon has 1. 2 for eBay
The secure https should be turned on but isn't. It appears they should have it on according to their privacy page
SSL Data Encryption

need your name + your address + your credit card number + asking your birthday + no encryption……
+ when depositing @ local branch the account name is not even a company name!
hmmmmm……….I smell something?
if this is around the same price as Amazon, I would rather go with a company that has reputation!
Why does 'Market Deals' ask for Date of Birth on checkout?
I'm not comfortable with companies asking for all sorts of unnecessary information just to make a purchase.
