Great price! However when I add to cart I get the message "We're sorry. The item WD My Passport 2TB Portable External Hard Drive Storage USB 3.0 Black is no longer available from the seller you selected. To see if it's available from another seller, click here to return to the item's product detail page."

    • same

      bummer

      • Same here too :(

    • This happened last week as well. It was showing up for a while that the seller was Amazon.com and then it got changed to onSale and after a while, Amazon was the seller again. The price was fluctuating between $129.99 to $131.99. Try refreshing the page a little later. If the price doesn't go back down or if it's not available from Amazon, please feel free to neg the deal.

managed to get one now :-)

  • Cheapest seems to be $127.

    • -2

      Yeah I'm getting $126.99 too

For those who ordered last week, if the drive comes back to being sold by Amazon (it's currently only available from onSale) and it's $105 as this deal states, then speak to Amazon Customer Support at: https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/contact-us? -

They treat their customers really well. I just spoke to them about having bought the drive for $129.99 and they were very kind in refunding the difference. However, when I spoke to them, the hard drive was being sold by Amazon for $105.49. It's currently being sold by onSale. It might go back to being sold by Amazon. If it doesn't, please neg the deal.

Thanks. I just text chatted with Amazon and they are refunding the difference on my order from 2 days ago ;^) A great deal just got better ;^)

    • +2

Thanks a lot!! For the OzBargain post and for this helpful comment. They are refunding the difference. Wow - that's what I call a customer service!

    • +4

Have to say that Amazon have the best customer service from my experience.

Few years back, I ordered a textbook for uni - it was a very poor print, some pages not legible - I emailed them, they refunded the money and sent a new book and wished me luck with my studies :)

I wish there was an amazon.com.au!

      • +4

@rorymeister, I'm actually afraid of there being an amazon.com.au. Afraid that they'll charge the "Deal with it Australia" tax that Adobe, Microsoft and Apple are imposing on us. You can see this affecting Amazon UK. Same drive on Amazon UK ends up costing ~$160 dollars excluding shipping. That's quite a difference between either $105.49 or $129.99 on Amazon US and $160 on Amazon UK.

        • Yeah, that's a good point.

    • anything you have to say in particular?

      didn't work for me :(

    • I asked them a few questions about the price and they said this:

"I did search on the price to our catalog and I'm really sorry but we have never price dropped of the item to $105.49"

    • Thanks for that. i just sent them an email following your advise. hopefully they can refund me the difference too.

      • +3

THIS IS AWESOME. i just got the difference refunded!!! i love amazon!!!

  • Dammit, bought it last week!

    • Me too. :/

  • -1

    Isnt this a dupe

    • No, the price is lower.

  • +1

hurried up to turn on my laptop, but the price is $126, cannot ship to Australia. Anything wrong?

    • +1

"cannot ship to Australia" for me too.

      • +1

Ooops, now that Amazon is selling it again (not another seller) it will ship to here now.

  • +3

I was lucky enough to snazzle one up for $113.89 delivered.

    • +2

well i'm glad at least one other OZb'er got it quite cheap. Congrats.

I'm sure some lurkers got it too.

  • -2

I've contacted customer support and they've informed me that the drives that sold by Amazon directly are out of stock, and they don't know when and at what price they'll be back in :( So bad luck I guess :P

    • +4

Not really worth a neg, simply limited stock that sold out. Clearly they were in stock as per the OP's screen capture.

  • Now $126

  • :( I want

  • +4

It just let me order one for $106, with $7.78 shipping.

    • +2

Yep same with me! I was able to order it no problem at all. And with 28 degrees card this is an awesome deal!!

  • yep. just ordered for $113 shipped.

  • +2

    back to $105.49!

  • Yeah, me too. Just right now.

  • Can confirm working again… Limited to 1 per account :(

  • +1

Woohoo! Ordered one at $105.49 US (plus shipping). You just need to refresh the product page from time to time and catch it when it comes up as $105.49.

  • Is it better to pay in AUD or USD? Their rate isn't great but I'm not sure if my credit card's FX conversion rate could be better.

    • +1

I got slugged with banks currency conversion charge last time so defnitely paying in aud.

    • +2

USD with a 28 degrees mastercard. No currency conversion fees. Get one now if you haven't already. Essential for Ozbargain!

      • What is the annual fee on that card?

        • +1

          no annual fee

        • +1 Absolutely no reason not to get one.

Set it on direct debit for payments and you're good to go.

  • +1

yay works thanks for the deal :)

  • +1

Back again. AUD $113.89 delivered woohoo! Thanks for this!

  • yeah I can confirm it works again too …limit 1 per person it seemed like tho …thanks for sharing :)

  • Definitely pay in USd.
Amazon have a crappy exchange rate.
Bought this drive for 145ish a few months back from amazon.
Feels like a a cheap drive with the brittle plastic casing but
    115 for a 2.5 2tb you can't go wrong.

    • Its working again. Be quick. I just put in an order. I was going to get a case too but I think they are cheaper here.

      • Thanks, Ordered one :)

  • i can't checkout. says in stock but wont let me pay

    • logged out and tried on another pc and it worked. I think because I had two in my save for later cart.

  • Just got one :)

  • I changed it to us… Hopefully i don't get any charges on my visa debit card

  • Got one too. Thanks

  • +1

Be aware I bought the 2tb last time and it has issues disconnecting from a USB 3 port constantly. Googling the issue brought up many other with this problem specifically from drives purchased from Amazon. WD indicated it's a cable issue and provides replacement cables but I can confirm this isn't the issue.

  • Amazing price. Got one even when i dont need one. cheers

  • Think it's limited to 1 per order, could use two at this price.

  • Cool, Order total: AUD 113.89

  • +1

Been waiting a while for this to come down significantly. Great Price OP.. Well done! Just bought one….

  • +1

    Great price…just bought one…Very easy transaction…Thanks ragflan :)

Same here, but hey, it can make a Bday present for my brother, or dad. There is never enough HDDs. Put TrueCrypt on it and use as a local backup, which I can take anywhere without a worry about my data.

  • +1

    Great bargain got one

  • +2

Just ordered my second one, still waiting on the first to arrive. I just got ozbargained.

  • Has this deal expired now I can't see it at that price anymore?

    • Today it has been going in and out of stock every now and then. Just try again in, say, 20 minutes, and hopefully it will be available at that price again (watch for the words "Ships from and sold by Amazon.com" under "In Stock").

  • Is the seller onsale or is it direct for Amazon?

The one from onsale isn't shipping to Australia at the moment.

    • +1

Apparently, the $105.49 deal was direct from Amazon.

I just missed it. I saw it for that price, but ended up no longer available from the "seller you selected". (Which was Amazon).

That was about 3 hours ago. Been looking constantly since, but no joy.

  • back to $126.99

  • +2

just had live chat with Amazon and the rep refused to refund different because the price on their website are different to the one that was posted early.

  • Seagate 3TB backup plus desktop version is pretty cheap today.. US$119.

  • What's the warranty like on an Amazon product, and do you have to pay for return?

    • +1

Fantastic. Nope they cover returns. Often with no q) asked.

Best service there is out there.

      • Thanks, and now it's not available at the price again … :)

Bought this WD 2TB Passport from Amazon from last week's deal @ $129.99. But thanks to ragflan, sent an email to Amazon customer service asking them if it's possible to refund me the difference between the price. Also sent them a link to the screenshot of the item priced @ $105. Then to my surprise, they refunded the $24++ difference. Here's their email to me.

    "Hello,

Thanks for contacting us about the recent price change on the item 'WD My Passport 2TB Portable External Hard Drive Storage USB 3.0 Black'. I recognize you have a choice of retailers and appreciate that you prefer to order from us. Unfortunately we don't have a post-order price guarantee.

I've reviewed your order and see that the price change is significant from the time the item shipped.

Under the circumstances, I will make an exception and will issue a refund for the difference in the amount of $24.50 to your Credit card.

You'll see the refund on your Master Card statement in the next 2-3 business days."

    • +1

I bought two WD 2TB from Amazon last week(they both haven't arrive yet). After having a live chat with a lady of Amazon, she agreed to refund $50 ($25 each) for me as an exception. Thanks to ragflan. Thanks to OZbargain.

  • Not sure, but for a Sydney address it says

We're sorry. This item can't be shipped to your selected destination. You may either change the shipping address or delete the item from your order.

    Any ideas…?

  • +1

Guys, make sure the seller is Amazon.com and not onSale. The seller keeps changing. onSale's price is more expensive and they don't ship to Australia. Amazon.com has the drive for $105.49 and they ship to Australia. If it's being sold by onSale, try again a little later and hopefully Amazon.com will be the seller.

This deal reminds me the Nexus 4 ordeal. I spent a good few hours F5ing the crap out of google.com/nexus. I apologise for all those still trying. I hope you get your order through.

  • Mr burns can you please upload the same picture that you use to show that they have actually priced the item at $105 which you send to amazon customer service to get your price difference as I tried talking to them and tried sending them ozbargain link and camelcamel link to show them they actually did place that price but instead they replied me this:

Thanks for providing us these details. I'd love to help you with this.

I've checked and see that the URL which you've provided is for a different website. We consistently offer competitive prices on everything we carry; however, the prices on our website are subject to change. While the Amazon.com website has accurate pricing information, we don't honor prices or savings posted without our permission on other websites.

    Ozbargain above

I'm sorry for any misunderstanding regarding the price posted in this website.

I checked our records and confirmed that we never offered this item for $105.49. While the Amazon.com website has accurate pricing information, we don't honor prices or savings posted without our permission on other websites.

    Camelcamel above

    Thank you

Alright, to the people who bought the item during the last deal here's what I did to get my refund for the price difference.

Go to the customer service chat and say "The product I bought changed from 139.19 to 105.49. Is it possible to refund me the difference between price". After that they ask you for order number, wait a few minutes then they told me they'll give me a refund for the amount. Easy as that. Didn't have to provide them any links or pictures.

If this doesn't work, exit the chat and try another person. This was the second person I chatted to about this and second time got lucky so try it. BUT you have every right because they said to me before I left "Since the price of the item you purchased changed within 7 days of the delivery of order, we issue refunds for the price difference." $25.97 coming back my way!

  • 3rd times lucky, got my refund of the difference.

If you one of those people that had ordered on last deal and want to get refund of price difference you really needs to be patient.

I had tried 2 x live chat and 1 x email to get my refund back on last live chat.

    • No need to live chat. I emailed Amazon a link to the screenshot and they replied saying they have refunded the difference. YMMV but it couldn't have been easier for me.

  • sigh…im i late? This drive still sold by Onsale!!

  • Here's a screenshot for those who need it - http://postimage.org/image/or9j69bbf/. The deal is dead. I had it in my cart but never bought it. Was sold from Amazon directly, not from a 3rd party reseller.

    • Changed the titled to show $129.99. Still a good deal considering that cheapest price in Australia is still 50 dollars more expensive than Amazon. Not as good as the $105.49 price obviously. It usually sells on Amazon for between $140-$160 dollars since December so $129.99 is still a good price.

Got my refund back! I even put in a line on the email saying that some customers have successfully received an email about refund and I just gave them the photo posted earlier by Ragflan. Amazon has the best online customer service ever.
