    can someone with the knowledge give a little insight into this program?
    i currently use photoshop cs6, and would say I am quite a bit above the average user.
    would i benefit from this program/plugin, or should I just stick to photoshop?
    the features it shows on the site look good, but i wonder how much control you actually get over them.

      for anyone interested, heres my impression using PE4 as a plugin for PS6;

      the plugin works by opening a new window to edit the image using PE features, rather than the features being integrated into the plugin itself.

      the features are quite good, with a large range of effects. however, for the more advanced PS user, most, if not all, of the filters could be recreated with more control and options using the PS features themselves. it is nice to use PE to quickly add an effect, but the more advanced users will want to tweak them a lot anyway, to get them just right.
      using the some of the filters which apply a border or grain-type effect is one of the better aspects, as it takes a lot longer to do this manually in PS. but still, if you are going for absolute perfection, things will require more tweaking, most likely within PS itself.
      there are also some filters which use a brush to apply them, rather than applying to the whole image. if you find yourself usually editing individual components of a photo separately, this is a good feature, although its still more limited than doing it in PS alone.

      basically, the program provides an option to apply a wide range of effects quickly and easily, but sacrifices control in order to do so.

      overall its a decent program, and a handy plugin.

      Click Finder, Applications, Utilities, Disk Utility and click preferences. Uncheck the box Verify Checksums. Then reopen the DMG file.

      I think it's somehow complementing GIMP. This is mostly effects and filters (which the stock GIMP is seriously lacking).

    Thanks OP. Downloaded last night. got the error on Mac but not too worried. Will re-download and work it out.

    It's a good software. I've their free presets and they are ok. The paid version is much more though.

    I finally got around to installing it on my Mac and I keep getting the message:

    The license (sic) has already been used. (-23)

    Looks like they revoked the licence codes. Perhaps it wasn't supposed to be free?

      regardless, i sent an email thru their support section saying its pretty sad when the promo a product for free then revoke the keys… wait see what i hear back… :P
