Sony Education Savings for Uni/Tafe Students and Staff

02
STMA2013

I am a Windows U Crew Ambassador and as a part of promoting Windows 8 Sony has given me some vouchers (see attached) to be used by University and Tafe students and staff to save on Sony products. All details are contained on the attached voucher but the following is a quick rundown:

As per the picture of the voucher, students and staff are eligible for exclusive educational pricing on products such as VAIO laptops, Cyber-shot cameras and more.

Sign-up at www.sony.com.au/edu/preregistration is first required and purchasers of any VAIO laptop will receive a free backpack valued at $99 (while stocks last).

Free shipping on all orders.

  • any idea what the prices are?

    • My understanding is (just going by what it says on the voucher) that once you register you will see the 'educational pricing' after logging in, on each individual item listed on the site (see: 'how do I buy?' on the voucher).

      • To reiterate, 'any idea the prices are?' ???
        You haven't mentioned any prices/discounts.

        • To reiterate, the discounts are entirely subjective and apply to items individually listed on the online store, as per the voucher. It is my understanding that there is no flat discount applied. You will have to register to identify which items are applicable to receive which discounts.

          I hope that helps.

        • My apologies if I came off as brash but since no one else on here appears to be able to access the education store, I was hoping you could provide details on specific product discounts (such as a Vaio S13, Cybershot, etc.) so we could have some idea as to whether this deal is worth pursuing.
You've made it quite clear that the discount varies by item.

          Thanks.

  • Any discount on playstations?

    • Just a quick grab from the website:

      "What can I buy?
EVERYTHING! The Sony Online Education Store is linked to our Online Store and has access to the widest range of Sony products. Offers, first peeks and exclusives come up often so make sure to register for more information to get the latest up to date deals."

  • Sorry to everyone having trouble with the verification of their Email addresses - a quick look on the registration page has directed me to this Email address ([email protected]) to resolve any issues experienced. I hope it gets resolved quickly!

You want 'real' savings, buy your Vaio from Sony US. I just got my fully spec'd Vaio S with Carbon fiber for $1000 less than the price here.

I was offered the "opportunity" to be a Windows U "Ambassador". F**k giving away all of my dignity over promoting crap for almost nothing.

Edit: For the record, my UTAS email address doesn't work.

  • "Meh" if this site is anything to go by: https://store.sony.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ContentDispā€¦
10% off laptops, 5% off cameras. It's better than nothing of course but I wouldn't be expecting to save like you often do with Microsoft or the odd Dell deal.

No discounts listed, no one being able to reigster… No deal.
