  • Not too bad at all for the Extreme Pro cards. Similar to amazon but free shipping.

    • Hi backsideslappy,

We have a batch of cards at a cheaper cost, therefore we are offering them to ozbargainers.

Reading all of that, I think I will hold off on ordering a couple of 16GB 95mb/s cards. Thanks.

  • REP are your cards sourced from the Authorized Australian Distributors?

    • Hi ZRXS12,

Yes we purchase them from a local supplier in Queensland.

      • So warranty service is supplied by Sandisk Australia?

        • Wouldn't you just send it back to MemoryCity?

        • +1

I think it's important to know if you are getting Genuine Australian stock as opposed to imports.
If you do have issues in the future and it's not genuine and memorycity is not around who are you going to get to fulfill your waranty?
Don't forget Aussie Ultra micros come with a lifetime :)

        • Hi,

Yes any issue with the product, we will cover the warranty.

          Thank you
          Francesca

        • It seems you're just attempting to scam people and deceive them into purchasing your product.
          Really poor form.
I will now officially never purchase anything from you, too bad I gave you a + before now I can't neg your lying arse.

        • Hi ZRXS12,

Please read the comment below, if you opt for SanDisk warranty, you can go to them directly for warranty.
We are having faulty units returned to us because we send out replacement units after receiving the faulty ones.
That is a better way for our customers.

          Thank you
          Francesca

        Hi ZRXS12,
Yes we purchase them from a local supplier in Queensland.

so "a local supplier" but NOT "a local authorised local supplier"? meaning no local sandisk warranty?

        edit:

        francesca2148 4 min ago new
Yes any issue with the product, we will cover the warranty.

seems to backup what i was thinking, these are grey market imports with no local sandisk warranty and the rep is once again just trying to spin it to sound better than it really is

        • +4

The last two I bought the serial numbers checked out as Australian stock. I emailed sandisk and asked.

        • +2

          Hi,

We encourage end users to deal directly with us for a fast, reliable, smooth process.
SanDisk can provide the local warranty service, sometime it will take a little while to settle.
If you opt for local warranty service, SanDisk will do the warranty, but it is not a direct exchange / swap process.
They will take the card back, test it and make sure it is faulty before shipping out a new unit.
Therefore it will be a smoother process to have the warranty back to us.

          Thank you
          Francesca

        • i think you just need to spell it out for the paranoid ozbargainers above, cause they are just nitpicking your wording. If the above is really true and what you offer, then youd get more positive responses. Better than being wishy washy about it:

"Our products are genuine Sandisk AUSTRALIA products, with warranty valid with Sandisk Australia. However for an EVEN BETTER SERVICE, we will act as the first point of contact for all warranty concerns, with the most common response being a complete replacement of the product, which is much faster and easier than going through Sandisk directly"

there you go, you can thank me with me a discount voucher =)

          edit
sigh wish ozbargain didnt hide the identities of the pussies who downvote

        • +1

          I'm not paranoid :(

But you have hit the nail on the head right there, a simple up front statement as you have outlined, it should not be like trying to draw blood from a stone.

If you go through many of the sellers on ebay who attempt to portray themselves as suppliers of Sandisk Australia products but infact are not, you will find very similar wording to what the Rep has used.

  • Good price for 64gb micro. Only $8 more expensive than the amazon deal

    • Thank you.

I would not recommend buying from these guys.

I tried buying a memory card from them last time they had a deal on here and they did not send the memory card. I sent them 3 emails and a PM on here after a month of waiting and received no response from them at all. Finally opened a PayPal dispute - no response on there either. PayPal did refund my money in the end but it was just a complete hassle. Very poor customer service.

    Neg from me.

hope it stays that way for me,

but this was a bad exp.

  • Hi Rep, the comments seems to be not so encouraging but still I have taken a chance and have ordered a 32GB card..can you please make sure that I am not disappointed !!

    • Hi ozshaz,

      Thank you for your support.
      We will not disappoint you.

      Cheers
      Francesca

Sounds alright to me; the fact that the rep actually takes time to explain to the negative comments and despite some terrible experience on the products return doesn't seem to be an issue if the product is faulty shows that they are indeed trying. Def worth a shot.

    • Hi AmericanDad,

Thank you for your feedback and support.

I've ordered from these guys before - both MicroSD and SDHC cards. I've never had any problems with the company.

One of the microSD cards I ordered had a faulty adapter - I sent Francesca a note via Ozbargain and was sent replacement adapters pretty quickly after that.

I can't really fault the service.

    • +1

      Thank you apu.

  • Well from all the comments I read above looks like you need to improve your customer service. Since I have heard from friends that you guys sell genuine cards(not sure if grey stock), I will take a leap of faith and order from you guys. Hope not to be disappointed as well!

    • Thank you.

  • +3

I've bought a couple of cards from MemoryCity, both were shipped very quickly.

Later, I read some of the comments against the company here. So, when one of the cards failed, I thought I’d try out their service for myself.

It took four emails over two weeks before they got back to me. They finally replied and asked me to send them the card. I posted the card the next day. Another two weeks has passed and I haven’t heard from them.

I want to like MemoryCity, but it’s getting tough to do so.

    • Hi Jahnah,

Please provide us with your order number and kindly advise when did you send the faulty unit back?
We currently have a batch of return mails on hand not yet sorted.
The others that we received were all sorted by last week.

      Thank you

Prices look good, and rep seems keen to correct some of the previous issues so seems good to me

I need a CF card for my 7D - will shoot some video. Will I benefit from paying for the Pro (90mb) over the Extreme (60mb)?

    • Hi digitalane ,

Yes the 90MB/s runs at a higher speed for your camera.
It will be your choice, but I myself will recommend the p0MB/s card.

      Cheers
      Francesca

    • Might be overkill.

My 550D was writing at around 6-7MBps with video. I would assume the 7D would be similar since it uses the same processor (though it has 2 instead of 1).

However, the higher write speed might help when you're shooting RAW at 8fps.

Horrible customer service, non-existant response after the sale has been done. I had to raise a dispute via Paypal to get attention from them.

Didnt receive any invoice until today for a transaction almost 2 months ago. I was also worried the product not a local Australian stock that comes with Sandisk AU warranty. Gonna have to check when i come back from holidays.

My opinion, go to a retailer/ seller that gives you less of a worry.

    • Hi LurvinOZB,

We did apologize as the tax invoice was sent to the wrong email address.
We have forward it to you today to both email address supplied.

      Thank you
      Francesca

I too have had bad luck with these people - being sent the incorrect product. Having to pay return shipping and then waiting over 8 weeks for the correct product to be sent to me, (despite an excessive number of emails confirming it had actually been sent 'this time'

    • Hi dewy,

Have you receive the correct card from us?

      Thank you

  • Hi Rep, do u price match?
i am after, SanDisk 16GB Extreme SD card 45MB-s Class 10 SDHC, Topbuy.com.au has it for $14.95

Handling yourself quit well rep :) Us ozbarginers can be a little hard to "bring around" once we feel we've been wronged…. BUT.. Do the righty and fix up your adimin and keep the nice attitude ensuring promt service and responses and Ozbarginers will back you… Stuff em round again and Kiss it goodbye.

It seems like the only way to bring out the attention of
memorycity when something went wrong is by posting here, otherwise you will not hear from them. So it's a bit risky to buy from them.

  • +1

I wouldn't buy from these guys again. Exceptionally poor packaging. Charge more for packaging if need be, my card was shoved with letters and was in poor shape.

  • just grabbed a 32gb - hope this goes well.
bonus brownie points if this arrives on Friday lol

  • +2

I did have some issues with the store, but I have taken them back, as francesca is very helpful.

However, I do NOT recommend the Ultra MicroSD 32gb cards, as I've now had 3 that were faulty, 2 from Memory City and one replaced my Sandisk themselves. They all die within a month or so, causing me to lose everything. Gone back to a cheap no name card which has lasted me for the last 6 months with no issues aside from being slower.

    • Have you tried doing a zero fill format on them? on one of mine i would have it drop and do other odd things, ended up doing a zero fill on it and fixed it. https://www.sdcard.org/home/ has a few nice programs (its the SD associations website)

      • Nah, computers don't even recognize them any more.

    • Thanks for the heads up on the 32GB, read about to many failures with the 32GB here, so grabbed a 16GB today with price match from Officeworks.

  • I've ordered, first order with you guys.

    Let's see how it goes!

  • Hi, I have ordered a 32 gb micro sd and it had arrived on Friday. I did a test with H2testw, I am only getting a writting speed of 7.35 MB/s, same with windows file transfer. I want an explanation for that.

    • What card reader are you using? ive found that with mine the card reader was the limiting factor.

      • Internal card reader, XPS 15 L502X. Not really sure if its the card reader.

        • +2

Gd luck trying to get a response!

        • Gd luck trying to get a response!

that is of course until they want to post another deal, then they will make out to care about ripped off customers again.

        • Yeap, I will be in the list of unhappy customers that will be complaining the next time they post up a deal.

        • +1

Seems to make little difference, look at all the ones who bought in this deal regardless of the many complaints about seller in three other deals. Some people just have to learn the hard way.

    • +2

If you want to try the card in your phone? in the Play store/Android market there is a Sandisk app for memory management, download that and one of the features is a speed test :)

If it measures low on your phone take a screen shot and send it off to them.
If it measure over 10 get your hands on a USB card reader and try and rule out your internal reader.

I've used the Sandisk app and it measured spot on with my laptop card reader.

      Sandisk Ultra 32GB
      Purchased 01/2013
Tested on ASUS K55A using the built in card reader.
      Purchased from eBay.
