        • +18

Unfortunately, all flights with coffee to Perth have been…

          grounded :(

          YEEEAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

      Too much coffee? :P

    • A + vote for this one because they're confident enough in their product to provide a reasonably priced (free + post) sample of their product.

Can't ask for better than that. :)

Except for this deal to be posted while my sample is in the mail. :) :)

      • +2

Don't wait for the sample - just buy it. Good coffee!

  • Thanks for the deal.
I've finished twiddling my thumbs and ordering as we speak :)

  • +1

Yay! Finally 1KG deal for a great price buys

  • Great to see competition between roasting houses heating up. First Bay beans now Manna. Anyone know what this Indian Tiger Mountain coffee like?

  • +3

Voting +ve to get this on Page one.
Bay Beans and Manna's love child would be named 'Piccolo' (…or 'Macchiato' if it were a boy).

    • +1

Thanks James, too much coffee could be a very hyper active child ;-)

  • How long does this deal last for?

    • Deal running for 7 days :-)

  • -5

    Either of these 'deals' fairtrade?

    • -6

      I hope not!!!

    • +1

Blood, sweat and tears increases the flavour did'nt you know?

    • +1

why did you down vote this?

      • There are a lot of people that oppose 'fair trade'. I think it's best for people to do their own research and make up their minds for themselves.

        • +4

Why one earth would anyone oppose fair trade coffee!?!!?! We all know that coffee growers get the worst deal out of any commodity in the world, anything that make the industry even slightly more fair is a godsend for the poor growers throughout the world.

        • How exactly does fair trade make it slightly more fair for growers?

      • +1

Good. Your neg on the deal has now been revoked.

Edit: I was referring to Sunrise voting the deal down for no good reason, which has now been revoked.

        • I didnt vote the deal down ..

        • +1

Damn. I can't edit my comment. The down vote was from "competitions", not 'sunrise'.

        • I take it from the silence that they're not fairtrade / ethically sourced beans?

Any chance of a deal for fairtrade stuff??

        • Email me and I'll do you a one off deal on a good Fair Trade Coffee

    • Does ANYONE personally know a coffee grower whose life has improved because of fair trade?

      • Does anyone here actually know any coffee growers at all?

        • Yes :-)

    • The problem with Fairtrade is sometimes it's counterproductive and actually lowers profits for farmers. The farmers bear most of the certification cost.

      http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fairtrade

An advantage for me is the farmers are strongly encouraged to limit the use of pesticides and herbicides to achieve certification. That benefits us as the end consumers regardless of anything else.

  • thanks for this !!! brilliant.

  • Is there a roast(ed) date on these? Don't suppose you can supply 4 x 250g vac sealed bags instead of 1 x 1kg bag?

    • Coffee will be roasted to order and shipped on the same or next day. Extra bags are $1 each please send money to [email protected] in paypal and leave notes :-)

      • so if i wanted 2 x 500g bags instead, just pay $27.99? seems like a good deal imo.

        • Thanks cbarre, That's the one ;-)

        • can i get 2 x 250g bags for $14?

  • +1

    Thanks for listening, respect

  • I have the shake but managed to click +. Is this good bean to make latte?

    • Great for Latte ;-)

  • have you guys had any issues with beans going VERY funky after 2 weeks? I bought a couple of kgs with one of your previous deals and found that the coffee was superb out of the pack, but got so bad after 2 weeks I had to chuck it out. I made sure to seal the bag, push out as much air as possible, and store in a dark part of the cupboard. Any suggestions from anyone for better longevity?

    • The way I look at it - 1 coffee = roughly 10g. So 1kg = 100 coffees? If we average 3 coffees in our house a day, then thats roughly a months worth of coffee. If it can last that long and still taste good, its a win in my book.

    • +1

      consume more coffee, more often!

    • Not sure what would have caused this. faulty valve? You could try storing bag inside an airtight container. Some people freeze unopened bags and there are varying opinions regarding this.

    • What does "funky" mean? Ive had a opened bag now for months, still tastes like coffee, may not be fresh anymore but still fine.

      • hmmm I just opened a sealed bag and the beans look "wet" :o what is that, I get the feeling they are "funky"

        • Over time the coffee releases oil. The darker they are roasted and the longer they are left the more oil they will release. You must have a dark roast as one of your coffee selections

  • Cool how much for this with the HARIO SKERTON MSCS-2TB Ceramic Burr grinder ?

    • +1

We can sell the Hario Skerton MSCS-2TB $49.95 with this deal :-)

  • +1

Great deal, first time buyer, will try, A+++

    • Great time to get in ;-)

..but give these guys a go, I am sure they are fantastic.

      • woops right you are :) Must be the lack of caffeine. I'll be trying your one out also once you have it available on the coast on a similar great deal as your original, thanks for the headsup on the mixup ;)

        • no worries - in case you didnt realise, it is a National Deal now - was Sydney only yesterday.

        • I didnt realise, I'll go order some now :) cheers

  • +1

Just ordered a kg + another bag + a hario grinder! Great deal and awesome customer service :)

    • Thanks for positive vote Mike, order received and packing in 2 x 500g bags with grinder for you :-)

  • How long is a kilo of beans at optimal condition for? (assuming it's stored in air-tight container and in a cool dark place)

    • Coffee beans are usually at optimum flavour and quality for only up to 2 weeks after roasting.

They will still be decent after that for up to month if you store them like you do but certainly not optimum.

  • Hope they taste good, just ordered it. :)

  • +1

anyone tried the aerobie coffee maker they advertise on the site? Kinda could use replacing my el cheapo plunger

Also, do you buy the expresso or plunger grind for the aerobie machine?

/edit, Screw it. Got amazing reviews on Amazon, so I guess i shall just give it a go.

    • You can select either. Espresso grind on Aeropress is going to give you a really strong shot, otherwise most people select plunger/stovetop/drip and I tend to grind the Aeropress sales in between espresso grind and plunger grind. If this makes sense ;-)

  • My Manna has WANED!

    • That's no good, gotta get your caffeine hit!

  • Tip: don't forget to add the 70g sample for an extra $0.01 :)

  • Any decaf available? Thanks.

    • Shoot me an email with your location and I'll make you an offer :-)

  • Alright. I haven't ordered Manna coffee beans before but have now given in and grabbed a bag. Will see what it tastes like compared to ~$25/kg coffee from supermarkets.

    • +1

Carefull, you might get hooked on fresh coffee ;-)

Just got this deal in the mail today. Pours really well with tonnes of crema, tastes great, way better than my local roaster. Tastes better than coffee from my favourite cafe (cibo rundle street). Very satisfied customer!

    • Great feedback, thanks Chief really appreciate you taking the time to post your experience. Another one coming soon, very juicy Rwandan coffee with great spine

  • +1

Mine arrived just then. Haven't got access to my grinder and coffee machine yet, but the thing that hit me immediately was the very pleasant and strong aroma of coffee seeping from the courier bag. It's not something one experiences when buying supermarket coffee. Very fresh!

  • +1

I just had a cup of Indian Tiger Mountain in my morning latte. Firstly, I'll need to adjust my grinder. While supermarket coffee beans grind to the right size for my coffee maker, this fresh roasted coffee seems to be more fine and sticky. My Sunbeam machine could barely push the water through.

Taste wise? Very nice. Richer, stronger taste of coffee where other beans deliver a somewhat diluted flavour in a latte.

    • Hi Cluster, Yes different coffee beans will grind differently and normally require some adjustment to the grinder. If initially the machine was struggling to push the water through and only dripping then it means the grind is too fine(will be bitter) and likewise if the water flows through too quickly then it means the grind is too coarse(watery and sour). Ideally it should take about 23-26 seconds.
