What printer do you have? my printer uses hp 564 cartridges, i always check ink-cartridge-ciss availability before i buy a new printer ;)

        • ok thanks. i was looking at mg6250 printer. but i checked the individual cartridges and they are much cheaper on ebay around $2 each. now if they work that would be better then CISS for me as i usually dont print that much. i can just buy as i need it. if the printer stuffs it i wont be stuck $140 ink system that can't be hooked up to any other model printer. thanks didnt think to check ebay. hope the cartridges from hong kong are ok

        • you can buy refillable carriages as well. see the link below:
          http://continuousinksupplysystem.com.au/en/canon-refillable-…

Ebay items comes with 7ml ink for each colour ( as you said $2.00) , Our Refill pack comes with 100ml ink for each colour which just cost you $10.00 for each bottle.

Also your printer use 2 different back ink ( Big black use Pigment ink / Small black use Dye ink) all Ebay item which normally comes as a dye ink!

        • thanks for the info. how easy to refill? do they need to be re-chipped each time? any videos on refilling, rechipping these?

I've had an Epson 1430 fitted to a MIR CISS for close to a year and it has worked well.
I've had a couple quirks along the way but got prompt support which was much appreciated.

  • May I ask people who used MIR CISS, how long did the ink last on xx amount of pages printed monthly/weekly? If you printed pictures or combination of them and documents. Just trying to get an idea. Thanks.

The consumption amount is controlled by your printer and your uses, regardless of the ink brand. This is like asking how many km does Coles E10 give you when you normally buy Woolies E10. Depends on your car and type of traffic conditions (city traffic or cruising on the highway all day).

Using 20ml ebay cartridges, I've printed around 285 pages of black and white (double-sided, not that it matters, but for printing b&w 4 lecture slides on each page, it's pretty much 80% page coverage)
This is using an Epson NX430.
Using that logic, I'd estimate around 1300 b&w pages per 100ml, though you may need to refill it earlier, if you're using a CISS due to ink being in the inklines/plastic pipes from the CISS/external ink tanks to your printhead/internal reservoirs or wherever the ink is received originally by the printer.

It really depends on your printer (Minimum picolitres) and what you print.

      • Thanks … I really don't use much colour printing hence my ink evaporates/dries out. I use mono laser and have not changed cartridge since I bought it around 2008. I print about 1 page a week. I am just a bit concerned if I buy the MIR CISS and I don't print regularly but will still require to change/refill every year.

If you only print 1 page a week a CISS is not worth the investment.

I am just a bit concerned if I buy the MIR CISS and I don't print regularly but will still require to change/refill every year.

If you don't print regularly, an inkjet will dry up and clog up the printhead, requiring massive amounts of ink flushing to clear out the printhead to be ready for use once again (regardless of all ink brands, moorim ink) given enough time of inactivity, and this will fill up your waste pads fairly quickly (I used up 20% of my main wastepad to flush out the printhead because of 1 month uni holiday - no notes printed haha).

  • it doesn't apply to certain product/ciss system, OP?
