  I've been in the market for these for a long time as well, however, waiting for a real steal to come along .. $186 is certainly the cheapest going around but hopefully if I continue to wait will come in at around $150 one day (wishful thinking?)

    Yeah extremely wishful thinking. I've been looking for the cheapest price for the plain black HD25s for the past couple of months, and this is easily the cheapest I've found. The Adidas ones have been spotted for $150 before but you'd be hard pressed to find them that cheap again. Good luck though

      yeah, i don't think prices for the standard version will drop to $150 anytime soon…that was clearly a clearance to dump the adidas stock.

      but you never know…fingers crossed! (i would be in for $150!)

        Exactly. Seeing as how these headphones have been around for 20+ years and are still regarded as one of, if not the best headphones for this price. I doubt they could be found cheaper

  These headphones are tough enough not to need a case. The ear and headband pads need replacing every few years but otherwise they're industrial.

    for $3 tho…i would get it more so to keep things tidy and in order rather than for protection!

    save the cable from getting tangled with other things, etc.

      Yeah the case is nothing special. I only use it while I'm at work to keep them safe from dust/sand/mud.

  I have 3 pairs now even my 9 year old pair are still going strong (pads, Bands and cord replaced)

    The basic edition isn't foldable and doesn't come with the extra velour earpads which are apparently even comfier than the pleather earpads, but the velour earpads are more prone to grime. The basic edition also comes with a angled copper cable where the other versions come with either a straight steel cable or a coil steel cable.

    I think those are the main differences. Steel cables are better quality than the copper ones but the copper one is angled, which is something I prefer

      think it's the closest we'll get to $150 for the original looking ones (i personally would not get the adidas ones no matter the price - i'm not being a walking billboard). think im caving mate haha
