Sony WH-1000XM5 Wireless Noise Cancelling Headphones - Silver $419 Delivered ($0 C&C/ in-Store) + Surcharge @ Centre Com

100

Certainly not the lowest it's been but still pretty decent I think.

You should be able to price beat at OW for $398.05 though I haven't tried it. I did try a JB deal and they dropped it to $409 for me.

I rarely post so let me know if I mucked something up.

Surcharges: 0% for bank deposit, Afterpay & Zip Money. 1.2% for VISA / MasterCard & PayPal. 2.2% for AmEx.
Free shipping excludes WA, NT & remote areas.

These are excellent, but waiting for sub $300 :-)

    • I personally has to sell them, fitting was on the bigger side. We have xm3, boat qc45 and Bose Ultra in the house and this had the worst fitting of them all. Great sound and swipe gestures but fitting made it uncomfortable

      • if you have Bose Ultra, you won't need XM5 as they would serve similar purpose.

      • What about its ANC vs Bose Ultra's? Which one is better?

        • +1

I prefer the Bose but it does have a slight humming sound

Good thing about sony is, the one hand gesture to temporarily pause anc so you could have a chat with someone

  • Had a quiet static noise in one earcup with any slight movement (even my heart beat). Not a massive issue but annoying.

Asked Sony support for a repair….$167 just to send away and assess. Parts would be on top of that. No thanks….

    • It was out of warranty I assume?

        Yeah it was.

The issue was probably there when it was in warranty, but not bad enough for me to differentiate from other minor noises (eg earcup foam compressing noise).

Hot tip to anyone that grabs a set. Dont settle for the default settings. Play with the SoundConnect audio settings (make your own, presets are trash).

Also use Wavelet for that final touch.

This took mine from being worse than $20 ear buds to better than my Xm3s. I'm actually shocked that their defaults are so rubbish, I nearly returned them the first week myself.

  • Shame that Sony won't price match these
