True and with MSY
I would rather pay 1 lousy dollar more for not waste time with MSY. Heck, I would pay $10 for not waste 30mins of my life in the queue anytime!
I agree - not the best price out there, but it's still much cheaper than the retail price.
Bing Lee (with 40 odd stores in NSW/ACT) have this drive for $119. See http://binglee.shoplocal.com/binglee/Default.aspx?action=det…
Officeworks has the 1TB Western Digital for only $40 more. Just got one today.
That's not USB-powered. You still required connect to the external power!
Read the specs and compare apple with apple
Well I think the negative votes are harsh. There is nothing dodgy about the deal, seems like a fairly decent price (not an spine tingling bargain but nor is MSY for $1 less) and for those at a distance from MSY like myself it has some appeal.
+1 for me. Good find.
My 2 cents
People really need to start thinking before making negative votes.
With this
1) Not everyone has access to MSY
2) "compare apple with apple"
Both Neg votes are unwarranted to me, and could stop people from putting up bargains if they feel that people are unfairly judging their posts.
Remember you can comment on a bargain without voting either way.
Exactly mrflibble,
Neither of the neg votes are warranted, one isn't even relevant and seems to be purely a bandwagon vote. Way to drag ozbargain down a notch… Hope this hasn't scared you away timhn
Sorry I'd give this a thumbs down, OzBargain's about bargains while this is not that much of a bargain. the comment about not everyone can get to a MSY store holds true for OFIS as well… there's only 5 stores across australia.
Interesting how people voted !
If you look at the top deal atm from DSE (http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/9275), I wonder how it got voted for +32 when only handful DSE stores listed. The deal also required personal shopping - ie not online. Sure, the price of the item was good but if you can't get it then what the point - just like the Dell's Vostro deal recently.
If anyone interested, this $133 HD is only $4 more than the last similar deal from Officeworks (http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/7432). It's not basement bargain but i think cheapest atm from a large retailer who won't make you wait for service and charge surcharge for CC usage. Also note that you get free delivery as well if you live within certain local areas of OFIS.
BTW, I don't work for OFIS!
apparently some ozbargainers are hard to please :)
for me, it is simply a bargain …
good find
It is a bargain!
How is it a bargain when Bing Lee is selling it for $119??
http://binglee.shoplocal.com/binglee/Default.aspx?action=det…
Agree. Cheaper elsewhere — and voted -1 because it should not have been on the home page.
Cheaper elsewhere as per ljiljana's post.
Definitely not a bargain when it's cheaper elsewhere
Schooled. Not a bargain. See Above.
no offense to the poster but recently ozbargain has really dropped in terms of having proper bargains on the homepage.
Last yr, i would always find decent/real bargains on the homepage. Nowdays, all I see is a bunch of average stuff which can be found in junkmail…
I appreciate everyones effort but something needs to be done now before it's too late :P
Perhaps we need to see an increase in + votes before it his the front page. (10 instead of 5).
The front page vote threshold is still optimised for around 2-3 days worth of bargains, which the current +5 votes still hold. I think it's just the slow time of the year. Wait for another week or two for the regulars to come back :) (and I was only back from holidays this week)
i am a fairly new member but used to browse before. I think the more popular a site becomes, esp one that relies on user submitted info, the more rubbish you will get. That is unfortunate.
ofis sux compare to office work..
this definitely isnt a sale… even though they put it up as one.
Went to the store and was told it was out of stock, and to boot the service was rude. Never going back again.
Mate not a bagain - MSY $132
