Sony Ericsson K800i - $91 from DSE (in-store only)

400

First post - hope that it hasn't been posted already.

DSE are clearing out their stock of SE K800i at the amazingly small price of $91.

If you're looking for a cheap 3g phone with a 3.2MP camera and bluetooth then this is the one for you.

Actual phone specs:

  • 3.2 MP Cybershot , 2048x1536 pixels, autofocus, video(QCIF), xenon flash; secondary video call VGA camera
  • Expandable memory
  • 3G
  • Bluetooth
  • Java MIDP 2.0
  • RDS FM radio
  • MP3⁄AAC⁄MPEG4 player
  • T9
  • Image viewer
  • Picture editor
  • Picture blogging
  • Organiser
  • Built-in handsfree
  • Voice memo⁄dial
  • Battery Performance: Talk-time 2 hours 30 min*, Standby time; 350 Hours*

Please note that the phone is locked to the Optus network but can be unlocked for $80 (purchased in recharge vouchers) or unlocked for free after it has been on the Optus network for >6 months.

Unfortunately there seems to be only a few of these phones left Australia wide and I guess this may anger some people but I wanted to make this known so that members may try to price match at other retail outlets that stock the Optus K800i Prepaid back.

Cheers!

Nice phone, but hardly any in stock, anywhere… as of 04/01/2009:

NSW/ACT:- Albury DSE, Carnes Hill DSE, Lismore DSE, Muswellbrook DSE
VIC:- Mentone DSE, Morwell DSE, Waverley Gardens DSE
    QLD:- Cairns DSE, Yeppoon DSE
    WA:- Armadale DSE, Morley DSE
    TAS:- Glenorchy DSE, Hobart DSE.

Hopefully someone gets one… they take nice photos. :)

  • damn, i wish it was in SA.

  • good price !

good deal but thing I hate about Sony phones is the expandable memory only works with Sony memory stick, I dont think you can use SD or mini-SD etc.

and I am pretty sure the Sony sticks arent as cheap as SD cards.

    • True, but memory cards are so cheap these days there isn't much of a need to worry about this if you shop at the right store. I'm sure Harvey Norman would still charge $50 plus for a 1GB M2, but a 1Gb M2 is about $12 on eBay.

  • Wow thats crazy cheap! I just sold my second hand k800i on eBay for much more than this.

Good deal but very hard to get stock. All the stores listed with store are in Italic meaning less than 2. Called all the ones in Melbourne and they said they didnt have it and the site was wrong. Typical Dick Smith

  • good luck if you can get one.

  • Great price if you can get! I had a similar one (can't remember which model), they take great photos, good phone.

  • Great Deal!

Great price, old tech but one of the better phones I have ever owned.

  • wonder can you price match this maybe at harvey norman?

  • DSE Morley show one in stock but they dont have any.
DSE Armadale show none in stock. Last one was sent for service.

  • To save anyone the effort, I can report that there don't appear to be any at the Melbourne CBD locations. I check the one corner Bourke and Swanston, and also Galleria, Corner, Bourke and Elizabeth.

  • Hahaah very good price, sold one to a mate the other day (i work at Tandy). Awesome unit.

  • This is a awesome deal. I bought this phone last year for 300 bucks and now its 91 bucks=.= anyway, for those who bought one, I recommend this phone. Awesome price and good features. Despite this phone around a few years old, its still quite good. The 3.2mp camera is quite good however, doesn't take pictures at night all that well however its still good enough for the normal 6x4inch photo. Good deal guys

  • anyone tried pricematching…there were none when i went in at opening time even though stock was shown as available -.-

  • (comment removed - the $199 model is '3', not optus)

  • Would be excellent if I used Optus, but I'm not gonna pay $80 to unlock it to use on 3. No sale. Thanks for the info, though.

  • it's good, but only limited stores with limited stocks!

and almost IMPOSSIBLE to get one of these,
so I won't vote a + for this, thanks for the info anyway!
