  • This app usually costs $4.99, I think once it dropped to $1.20 ish but this is the cheapest I am aware of it ever being. 99c for a professional app like this is really worth considering. I'm unsure how long it will last so don't waste too much time thinking about it. The sale begun today.

This is a deal for android users not apple. Take ur ios crap else where

      • +15

Wow JV you got negged for highlighting it was free on iOS. I think this is called Roid rage!

        • +9

The iOS / Android relationship is very sensitive

        • +9

he pretty much gets negged for everything anyway.

      • +1

I'm sure half those people negging cuz it's just jv

Just bought it… sux its free on the iOS but paid on Android? Oh well, I guess thats the price of having a better operating system… ;)

    • Yeah I just noticed that, oh well 99c is still a bargain and probably the cheapest we'll see it anytime soon. I've been watching it for awhile and it never budged.

    • Google Play doesn't allow to give away paid apps for free.

  • Seems like a massive battery drain to me, my phone would probably lose about half it's battery on a long run with GPS + data + this app running + music.

But if you don't mind that, then seems like a pretty good deal for the app.

  • I have been using runkeeper however the Pro version is very expensive, requires ongoing subscription

  • First ever app I've bought from Play Store. Thanks

  • Do I want the other runtastic apps if I already have runtastic PRO?

    Pedometer/walktastic in particular?

  • Dumb question - but how does this work exactly? You run with it in your pocket and it can read your heart rate?

    • It can't read your heart rate. Not unless you have a heart rate monitoring device (chest strap or watch) that's connected wirelessly to the phone.

It logs your running speed, location, altitude etc. Basically a GPS-based pedometer.

I use a similar app, Endomondo pro

  • Good on them for the discount but Lots of free running with GPS apps on android store

    • +3

Yep but lots of the free ones don't have the higher end or as comprehensive features, which you may or may not want :)

I really enjoy the voice read outs of lap speed/ distance/ instant and av speed. Partner tracking is handy to have built in (think Criminal minds opening scene - woman running down a wooded track).

      • +1 for example given. You should send your script to the producers! :)

  • This is most well rounded app to track sports. Not only has gps tracks , but you can also log any sort of sports. Also syncs online so you can log data from the phone and the tablet and keep all in sync.

  • I have this app, never used it, but I plan on doing it now.

  • What is the best way to carry a ~4.7" smartphone when running?
It would be a bit large to strap on the arm and too large/heavy to hold in a pocket, is a belt clip any good?

    • If you're referring to the Galaxy S3 I've seen a few females pop it in their cleavage - not that I was looking.

Whatever you do be aware that sweat can be a smartphone killer - do a google search.

    • I have had this for about 6 months on my SGS2. Not problem with battery drain using it for this and music. And haven't had a problem putting it in my pocket.

  • No more free SportsTracker since I've left Nokia behind. :(
This looks pretty good for a dollar though. :)
