$12 16GB USB 3 Lexar Shipped - Flingshot End of Month Sellout

520
DM4$40OFF

Just a quick sale for the last day of the month so we can clear out some inventory and make room for some new stock arriving this week.

Once again we have a special coupon for OZB members on the HP DM4, this time on the 16GB version.

We have also launched Olark on the site which we will be testing over the next few weeks. This allows you to talk to a member of the Flingshot team in real time rather than having to email and wait for a response. Obviously we are still happy for you to shoot us an email though if you prefer!

For those of you waiting for the launch of our sub site for music gear we are shooting for early next month but will probably be rolling out sections over the next few weeks as we populate the site. As always though if there is anything specific you are looking for just shoot us an email or jump on the site and ask one of us directly.

One reviewer's conclusion on the Jumpdrive:

"The JumpDrive S73 is very light, weighing just 9 grams it's one of the lightest flash drives we have seen. From a performance perspective the JetFlash S73 is dissapointing, we expect more from a recent USB 3.0 device, this drive is only a little faster than some USB 2.0 drives. In terms of value the JumpDrive S73 lands somewhere near the bottom of the pack, despite its reasonable price its let down by poor read/write performance."

    • Just Googled where that review was from: http://www.whoratesit.com/Best-Flash-Drive/Comparison/1

The review lists the price as being £14 (~$21), so the value proposition might be different at the price Flingshot is selling it for here. That being said, I have enough $9 Verbatim 16GB USB 3.0 flash drives from Flingshot's recent deal to last me a while, so I'll pass on this one. :)

16 GB ram on a laptop ??? thats alot of ram

    • +8

You can never have too much RAM.

    • I've got 12GB of 1600, never too much ram.

      • I had 12GB 1600 for my old desktop.
and I have 4gb 1333 for my current desktop.
Can't feel the difference at all. (probably I'm not doing much, just browsing OZB)

        • +16

You can -ve faster with more ram…

  • make room for some new stock arriving this week.

Does USB drive and card reader takes up that much space? =D

    • +2

Boxes full of them do ;)

  • Hey Flingshot, I just made a purchase the laptop, but before you releasing the discount code to Ozb. Any way I can get this upgraded model, thank a tons!

With customer service like this, I'd gladly support these guys; just like The Mens Shop.

Are you ever getting those Verbatim drives back from your first bargain? It's been the most reliable boot drive I've ever used for installing Linux/running it from the stick

    • +1

      The 8GB?

      • +1

Yeah, that one. Though 16GB would be cool if they come in that size

        • Just to confirm 100% this is the retractable one right? or is it the pinstripe?

        • Retractable one

        • +1

The first bargain was the 8GB Pinstripe which IS retractable. The Light blue/green colored one.

        • +1

          What he said ^

          Leave it with me.

  • Good deals, like the HP DM4 :)

  • Thanks. Do USB3.0 sticks max out the speeds on USB2.0 ports?

    • In a previous deal people were reporting good speeds on USB 2. But it is really going to depend on the computer, there are a lot of potential bottlenecks in data transfer.

  • Just bought 16GB USB 3 Lexar ! Thanks OP :)

  • 64GB Lexar JumpDrive S73 USB 3.0 Flash Drive - $42

    Best deal on offer.

  • I just bought 2 16gb usbs for esxi..:)

ref can we get a another deal on the netgear r6300? missed out last time and still chasing one

    • +1

We have been trying to work on the r6300 and d6300 for almost 2 months now. Very difficult to get the quantities we need to get pricing down unfortunately. But we are definitely trying.

      • thanks, keep us updated!

  • Bought 16gb lexar. Thanks Flingshot. I mentioned that I would prefer green color, is there any chance of getting that or do you just send randomly?

    • Colours are fixed on these drives unfortunately.

      • So which ones do you have?

  • Could you do a special deal on Nexus 7 tablets (you do deals for anything it seems.. '6 month anniversary' 'last day of month sale' :)

  • The Amicroe USB 3.0 Card Reader - Can it read CF cards?

    • Yes it can. As well as 1058 other formats apparently ;)

  • Is it free shipping Worldwide? Because after the paypal confirmation it says shipping method, New Zealand 50$.

    • +1

Did you try clicking on the word shipping to see what secrets it may reveal?

      • Yea I did, I live in the Netherlands, although I read free shipping it said at the payment it costs 50$ (New Zealand) extra for shipping that's why I was asking ;)

        • Okay cool, you must have seen the big red banner attached to the forklift in that case which is a fairly good hint of where they ship for free :)

        • Ah, silly me. I always overlook those things, thanks for the info/help though :)

    • +2

Unfortunately not free shipping worldwide. Shipping to NZ for some reason is very expensive we have found. But we don't have much volume there yet so that is most likely why.

  • Any chance that you will have 120-128GB samsung/crucial/intel SSD on sale soon?

  • Thanks, got a 16GB Lexar.
Couldn't find a lower price anywhere.

  • Hey,

I was wondering if you guys have any plans on a deal on a more high-end usb.
Something like the Sandisk extreme would be nice.
I don't mind paying almost double the price if I can just get something that can actually transfer files FAST!

    Thanks in advance!

    • I grabbed a Kogan 64GB USB3.0 stick a while back as all my USB2.0 ones were frustratingly slow, been quite happy with it so far. Gotta say I was apprehensive about getting one, was expecting it to be a bit of a dog but it's been great.

Warning: Only 60342 of 60435 MByte tested.
      Test finished without errors.
You can now delete the test files *.h2w or verify them again.
      Writing speed: 35.1 MByte/s
      Reading speed: 62.9 MByte/s
      H2testw v1.4

I think the capacity may have been down a fraction due to windows jamming system volume info or maybe a recycle bin or something on it.

It's not SSD fast of course, miles from it, but it's way ahead of all my other sticks. I would dearly love some similarly fast 8GB sticks for ISO's…

  • For the Netgear D6300, could you beat the price of $250? Some places are selling it for $250-$255.

  • Anybody else getting pretty rubbish speeds with this USB? even using USB3 it only does 30MB/s.. http://iforce.co.nz/i/lwp5c0fm.tnw.jpg
