Logitech Wireless Keyboard K400R $34 @ Bing Lee

200

Saw these on sale at Bing Lee today (Carlingford, NSW). They have clearance prices on all Logitech items. This stood out as a great bargain (all previous ones are currently no longer available).

They also have plenty of stock of the Logitech m185 mouse for $9.

Not sure if this is a sale at all Bing Lee's but there's plenty of stock at Carlingford. No mention of this sale on their website.

  • i was actually tossing up between K400 and K700

decided to get the K700 from ebay for $28 or so (delivered)

    • eBay link plz

      • Didn't grab one of these but I'm seriously considering it.

        • k700 is a great keyboard, razor thin, very portable, kind of like an apple keyboard but with button grooved inwards so your fingers can slip right into the center of the button

it doesnt have a spot where u can store the nano receiver and the right click is a bit strange as the k700 was designed for google tv, but logitech have still yet to come up with something better than this (affordable - mouse/kb in 1 combo)

i really would prefer the k400 & k700 to be mashed up but still think the k700 is better due to personal preference

Just keep in mind that Logitech K700 keyboard is meant to be used with the Revue for Google TV, not sure if it will work 100% with Windows.

      • Would the K700 be okay for a Astone MP310DT or Samsung smart TV?

        • I have a K400R.. it works on Samsung Smart TV.. not sure about K700.. anyone???

      • From what I've read it's plug and play with windows 7 (unsure about windows 8). You don't even need to install new drivers.

The biggest issue with it is the right click, it's not under the track pad but instead between the right ctrl+alt

        • isnt it at the top left corner? but a really stupid place to put a right click though (above the escape button?? wtf?)

        • no, that's a left click at the top left.

        • Or you can press shift + click. There is a mouse button on the top left (allows your left hand to be the clicker, while your right hand can use the trackpad) or the mouse button under the trackpad. Shift+click with left hand is probably the easiest way and feels quite natural to use after a while. Can also use the context button between the right ctrl + alt but that's probably the not as easy as shift+click.

Use it for my HTPC and works fantastic with WHS2011/Win7/Win8

      • works 100% with windows (7), have used it on my desktop and with laptop on the go

    hmm K400R vs K400

"Now optimised for Windows 8 with side-to-side scroll."
"bold, bright white characters and a UV coating"

  • Bought it when DSE were selling it for $35.
Handy little sucker worked with osx & Ubuntu out of the box.

A lot of it has sold out since.

ive got the k400R. i got it at 35 at dick smith when it was a bargain. It really is a great little keyboard. Now i see the k700 i feel a bit jibbed, but thanks for the advice about compatibility guys. Id recommend using the k400R if youre using it with a HTPC. To be honest i havent tried it with my samsung smart TV but i dont think i have internet browsing on the 40D6400

  • I cant see a windows key on the k700 (on phone so hard to tell). This is a big no no if you plan on using windows 8.

    • the search or magnifying glass icon is the windows button
