I got this last year, neat game. I probably need a better rig to play it again, my laptop gets lag spikes quite a bit, which ruined some of the dialogue for me…
should have used/should try using a lower video setting (that's what i did)…the gameplay and dialogue >>> more important than visuals anyway!
Not really. If you want to accurately create portals and get through them you need a good framerate, otherwise you might miss or stuff up.
umm, isn't that exactly the point of playing on lower detail settings…?

Ok, I thought you were saying that the gameplay & dialogue were more important than framerate.
nah, framerate (game-playability) i would include in gameplay (if you can't play it properly, then there's no gameplay!)
i mean reducing shading, effects, stuff like that. while obviously these things enhance the experience, they are not really that important.
a brilliant game for sure, I bought it last year and highly recommend it. I wish they'd come out with a Portal 3!

It's a valve curse to never make a 3rd in a series.
(Though I think CS:GO broke the cycle, but then again its really a 1.6 remake)
it's closer to source than 1.6 mate..
Sorry I never really took much notice of source, so I don't really make the link. The old cs_assault on 1.6 was way better, which kept me loyal for some years.

IMO CS:GO is right inbetween CSS and 1.6
was quite enjoyable, although i did buy this a few weeks ago for $6.25 (inc portal 1)
Game is worth $5, nice challenges. Some i slept on. I knocked over SP in around 8 hrs.

Didn't enjoy this game as much as the first Portal. I suspect it's more fun if you have pals to play it with*.

yeah man, it's sooo much more fun on coop.. specially when u kill your teammate by "accident" ><
I found soloing the co-op mode (using split-screen mode and two controllers) more fun than the single-player game, although I gave up on the final chamber because of the extreme level of coordination required (others have managed it though)! Give it a go if you enjoy a challenge! :)
