Since this mouse was around $60 not long ago. $39.95 is pretty good price to try a new style of mouse.

Have you seen Jobs' boat?
Did he use his boat as a mouse?
yes, obviously
and pirates have been using their ships as user interface devices for years.
This is just about as tasteful (and usable) as Apple's old (and Jobs-approved) "hockey puck" mouse: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apple_USB_Mouse
And, to be honest, Microsoft is probably scoring more points in the taste department at the moment when it comes to software — Metro is elegantly simple compared to the faux-leather/wood-panneled/brushed-metal/waterbubble UI skinning abominations of Apple.
I think the problem with this mouse is not so much style but ergonomics. The Magic mouse also suffers the same issues, being a touch oriented mouse.
Truth be told, do people really care what their mice looks like? The most important thing is for the mice to feel good/right in your hand…

At first I thought the same thing but then I saw the 2nd pic on the microsoft link. It's small enough to move around with just your fingertips and after thinking about it, it.. Kind of looks like it would be comfortable?
That's exactly what my first thought was. Having a a job where I'm on the computer all day, I appreciate how important an ergonomically correct setup is. I have yet to try this mouse, but to me it just screams "R.S.I"
I love how all these biased 'Windows' lovers are against you.
or a pinball flipper

Yeah, should of posted that a few days back noticed that when I picked up the other mouse Sculpt.
Looks like this will soon be used as a door stopper.
