WA - Samsung WF1752WPC Washing Machine $472 (RRP $799) @ Good Guys+ $75 Cash Card = $397

80

I have been eyeing this washing machine for a while, but could never justify the price hike in WA (best price I found was H/N willing to do it for $559). I ended up finding an image online of it on sale over East for $472 at Harvey Norman.

Samsung 7.5KG Front Loader Washing Machine WF1752WPC
* 1200rpm spin speed* 14 wash programs* Bubblewash technology* 4.5 Star WELS rating 64L/wash

Tried to price match in WA Harvey Norman and got told it was impossible.

Went across the road to The Good Guys and an older gentleman was happy to accommodate.

So for $472 + $75 cash back offer from Samsung, it came to a total of $397. Needless to say I went home a happy man ;)

Link to Samsung cash back - valid until end of January.

Please keep in mind that this is the Chrome version, slightly different and $20 more expensive from its white door sibling.

Good deal, but personally you couldn't pay me to use a korean top loader.
Not the best things around, especially the LG ones.

Is this an LG? Is it a top loader? Maybe I'm missing something?

Does anyone know how much delivery might be?

  • i had a sumsung frontloader, the back support frame (metal) decintergrated.i paid a tech to come out, several techs refused because they would not touch samsungs or samsung frontloaders. well i wasted my money and time on the tech who ended up saying throw it out and never get a samsung again.

That sounds more like an installation issue. They need to be kept level and stable.

I've had a Samsung front loader (can't remember model number off top of my head) for the past 4 years and never had a problem.

See, there's plenty of people with horror stories about all brands, but there are plenty of people who have never had a problem.

    • -2

yeah but when all the techs are saying dont touch them, thats got to say something

      • +2

Maybe they're afraid losing their job.

      • So because a few techs said they wouldn't touch them, therefore all Samsungs are crap? Umm ok.

Excellent deal. Samsung front loaders seem fine from the reviews at productreview. The top loaders are harder to tell, but most are ok if you used liquid and not washing powder - or use warm wash.

  • Made in china by Daewoo, pass….

  • OP, can you show me a link where you found it for this price at Harvey Norman?

I'm not a big fan of Samsung, but I bought one (top loader) a few years ago to fit a tight space.

It's been great. No agitator - great for delicates (along with delicate cycle). A "superclean" wash, optional soak. Delay start. And it sings me a nice little song when it finishes :)

It's never had a problem (touch wood).

    • I was never a fan of Samsung product either due to other people's feedback on them - that is until a mate of mine started working for them and preached to me how much they have improved their quality over the last 5 years; It is something I cannot argue with.

Bought a Samsung fridge 2 years ago, 580L and $150 odd cheaper than its closest competitor. Bit the bullet and have been enjoying its performance since.

To be honest, $397 for the washing machine. If it lasts 3 years it'd have already paid for itself, therefore I'm not too worried.

Not Recommended, any Samsung White Goods, you have an expiry day - your warranty!! We got our new house in 2010, and we got serval Samsung white goods due to budget price, they went fault one by one, I need to wastes my time to stay home for repair every year, and Samsung customer services is extreme bad, they need to in and out three times to fix a common issue, and they repeat it again a year later, that is we call lemon, however, by their definition - only happen 3 times before they replace the item, so just right after your warranty gone, your white goods is gone for good.

so if you have a house wife at home (instead of day off) for repair and also you intend to resell it before the warranty expiry, it is a good option.

last but not least, the good guys is good seller!!!

    • That's interesting. Maybe instead of getting better, Samsung is going backwards? Our Samsung fridge will be 10 and a half years old in a couple of months time. Now that I've jinxed it, I'm sure rust or failing seals etc will just spontaneously happen, or it will just die on a hot day.

It is not backward, it is about how they handle new tech (we are using Beta lab version instead of final design).

the new two door fridge, have a big design issue with auto defrost, it will short circuit the heating components. we got this issues every year, and they need to replace this component twice so far.

however, i think most of the new tech is working in this way nowadays. we pay for using the lab version then they release a better version after that. so I only complain samasung customer services is bad not the buget price goods. Also I will wait for Iphone 5s instead of buying iphone 5 on release! haha

IMHO Under normal use you should expect to pay about $100 per year for any frontloader. Therefore this machine should last 4 years. IF you want more years, just spend more up front.

Id rather upgrade to newer tech and specs every few years, than have to hold onto an expensive machine for 10-15 years that is superseded within its first 5 years. EG 5 years ago 1200rpm was top of the range, now its mid/low range.

    WP link is here btw…

This machine has glowing reviews online. I bought one too. But only time will tell. 4 years of normal use is probably 2 years in our house, wife does like 3 loads a day
