I got mine. Registered for the cashback on Nov 3rd, the cheque came on December 22nd.
The unit is brilliant among its competitors.
I got the Linux (Linpus) / SSD / 512MB version of one of these a few weeks ago (for a lot less), and it's great. Boots up in seconds; connects to home WLAN 100% rock-solid; fantastic little netbook with OpenOffice MS compatible "productivity" app's plus a few games and "fun" app's preloaded.
You'd expect to have to pay a premium for the HDD, extra RAM, Windows O/S…
Merry Christmas,
[ :- { )
You pay a premium for the XP version for a reason, The SSD on the Linux versions is simple cheap flash AFAIK, and is just too slow for Windows :/ Which is a shame, Because Windows XP absolutely flies on these netbooks, and is perfect for many situations. (Of course, just web browsing, the linux version does it fine)
I got one of these for $565 with $99 cashback, about 4 months ago.
Registered online for cashback and received it 8 weeks later.
Can't recommend it enough. Great for travels, light and easily fits into all my girlie bags.
This is still a pretty good deal, I reckon.
I got the Windows XP version about 2 weeks ago for $493 pre cashback.
Can highly recommend it apart from the fan noise. Apart from that it's a great product.
One annoying thing about it is you can't create restore discs easily or properly officialy.
Why had every comment been voted -ve,, and yet nil -ve comment or vote added????
I've voted everyone else's comment +ve to counter the -ves.
Had 3 of similar type now, got cash back on them all, OP you must have done something wrong.
This is exactly what I got about 2-3 months ago and NO cashback money! AVOID! Meh
why cashback, just sell it cheaper. I am so annoyed with acer. When you apply for cashback, you can choose extended warranty, not taking the money. Now, I've got no $100 and no way to take the warranty.
