  • how legit is this site! anyone had any experiances?

They are part of the Top Buy group, so they're not great. But you do have PayPal protection etc.

I tried to buy a set of headphones from them. It took them a week to let me know they were out of stock, and refunded me the next day.

      • If they are a part of the topbuy group then you should run as FAR away from them as possible.

Tried to order a Note 2 from them before New Years, took them two weeks before they told me they were out of stock and cancelled the order. RIght after cancelling my order, the phone price went up $70 (it never was shown as out of stock btw).

  • a bit worried with the warranty description below. only said 1 month seller's replacement warranty.

Australia / New Zealand Local Service Warranty
All products purchased through us is fully covered and if its Dead on arrival (DOA) we will arrange for replacement. Should you experience problems after the DOA period you simply goto you your local service centre, and we will pay to get it repaired for you..
Major camera manufacturers such as Nikon and Sigma offer 12 months international warranty on their DSLR accessories and lenses. Casio, Fujifilm and Olympus offer 12 months international warranty on their cameras as well.

For all other camera, camcorder and lenses, we offer a 6 months seller's warranty.

For all mobiles we offer a 1 month seller's replacement warranty.

You can buy additional warranty packs to get additional protection for your new purchase. You can even get up to 5 years protection! CLICK HERE

I don't think offering a single month's warranty is legal. You must be misinterpreting it somehow, or not quoting the entire context.

Maybe they mean 1 month DOA warranty (instant replacement from DFC), and the rest of the 12 months is standard warranty (you take it to local service center and DFC pays the repair expenses).

Seller's warranty to me sounds like the seller will deal with it (i.e. replacing it for you). After the seller's warranty expires, you're doing your warranty directly with a service center not DFC, but DFC will still pay for the repairs.

      That's how I interpret it.

      Kogan is better though.

    • Thats right, these phones are grey import and the owner of the phone is the person responsible for importing the product in the country ( and not Duty Free Central). Plus you get only 1 year warranty from China I guess. Better go to JB and ask them to price match. I bought Galaxy NOte 10.1 tab from JB asking them to price match KOgans price. Plus you get standard 2 Years local Australian warranty for the peace of mind.

      • it's only considered a grey import if an Australian retailer is importing it for you. By law the ACCC requires that warranty is handled by the Australian retailer that sold it to you, instead of you dealing with China / HK yourself.

If you. purchased it directly from an overseas retailer like Amazon then you must deal directly with amazon yourself, as there is no middle man. In the case of a grey import, the grey importer is the middle man who has to handle your warranty and they will deal with China for you.

if DFC won't do the warranty for you then it's not a grey import but a direct import, and if they are based in Australia then I'm pretty sure that's illegal.

  • Battery & charger included!!!!!!

  • Great… I just grabbed one off Kogan last week…. argh!!!!

I was going to say that this is not the best price, considering I got the Grey Note 2 from Kogan about 2 months ago for $559+19 delivery from Kogan. Obviously haven't been keeping track of prices though and I'm amazed that the same Note 2 (Grey) from Kogan is now $599 without shipping! Wonder what has been causing the price to rise..

    • Limited stock

      • And popularity

  • This is the 3g version of the note.

i just purchased a White Note 2 4g LTE version for $750 including postage and a screen protector.

    Kogan seems to be ok.

They send me a email saying the processed the order and waiting for the pick up from courier.

i think this deal isn't worth it as you can get the 3g version of note 2 for cheaper elsewhere.

  • This is the non 4G LTE version, have seen it much cheaper elsewhere!

    • This is the current market price.

    • I accidentally tap -ve!! Sorry man! How to revert this!??

      I want to give you a +ve!

  • agree ive seen it cheaper elsewhere.. hence not much of a bargain lol…

anyone got the 4g version ? hows the speed on it ?

      1. You won't feel a difference until Telstra extended their 4g network into your area. In Victoria it is within 7km from the city. By the time it reaches most area there will be SG Note 3 or 4.
      2. I have read one review stating the speed gain usually less than 2x.

If you are not in the 4g network area, save yourself the 100-200 dollars price difference for your next phone.

    • Sydney CBD speed test 11/01/2013

      Operator

      4G Ping 77ms D/L 15Mbps U/L 20Mbps
      3G Ping 67ms D/L 6Mbps U/L 1Mbps

  • yeah i have 4g in the city where i work … and close to where i live.

ive ordered it on KOGAN so lets see how it goes.

  • Was about to order one then saw they are apart of Topbuy, no thanks
Im happy to run and never look back at this deal

I know guys who use these… they strap them to their belt. Worse look ever! Not bad if you choose white and dig the storm trooper look though.

Seem like this phone has gone up in price everywhere, including ebay sellers from HK. I thought phones price can only go down? Must be selling quite well or short supply from the factory, either one.

  • Virgin have the note back in stock…

Edit the virgin one is the 4G
