Using virtualbox, it's free.
even VMware player is free and for the average Joe that's going to be the best bet.
VMware Player is Windows / Linux only.
Let's not forget educational pricing as well if you prefer to buy in a store (e.g. Apple Store).
I personally just upgraded from PD6 to PD8 using the Christmas upgrade special of $39.99.
not really a bargain… this is a known loophole that's been around for a long time… grab a VMware trial key (or generated key) then use it to convert to Parallels at a discounted rate.
also cheaper if you choose USD49.99 - if you bank does not charge conversion fees (28degrees card FTW)
