  • 75-300mm lens is out of stock. Good deal though.

    • you can still place order though. stock's coming soon.

  • I think the link from B&H is for T3i, where yours is T3, which is equals to 1100D
I believe the price of the camera is reasonable

  • +3

first thing first, it is NOT an "amazing" camera!
second thing second, it may be the best price ever for this camera +2 lens bundle.

  • +2

Indeed, this is the most basic DSLR on the market in terms of build quality, features and image quality. Decent price but unless you absolutely can't spend more than this it might be better to buy something you're less likely to quickly outgrow.

The 75-300mm may not be the most useful addition either seeing as it's ancient and has no stabilisation which is almost a necessity for this focal length.

    • True. Personally, I think the Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4.0-5.6 IS II lens is a better deal (code: GNWNIQRV), although it's ~80 bucks more.

But, $500 for a basic DSLR + 2 IS lenses (18-55 and 55-250) + shipping is a pretty sweet deal for anyone interested in an entry level DSLR.

  • What would the best Canon DSLR to get under $1200 (not including lens kit) primarily for video purposes?

    • Get a used 5D MK II.

    • I would recommend the Panasonic GH2 with 14-140mm lens for video purposes over any Canon DSLR with your budget. Then just flash the hacked firmware on the GH2 and you have something that is better than nearly every camera under $5000 easy. (or get GH2 body only for like $800 or so and then get some nice manual focus lenses if you want more creative shots)

      http://www.eoshd.com/content/7631/panasonic-gh2-vs-5d-mark-i…

      • Agree with you. With all the firmwares out there you can easily hack the GH2 which makes it an amazing camera for recording video. Btw the GH2 (body only) is $649 on BHP which is a pretty good price.

        • Thanks. Is there both an NTSC and PAL model, or is it both the same thing? (Does it matter?).

      • Thanks.

  • Can your budget stretch a bit? 650d + 24-105mm f/4 is a very good combo.

  • It's it worth upgrading to a 1100D from a 450D ???

    • Get a 550D, much better.

      • 450 to 550? Better look at 650D or 60D

  • Is the price in USD?

If I am not mistaken, t3 = 1100d and hence the best price is at HN for $377 considering its Aussie Stock and Warranty.

Though if you go for twin lens then I would recommend it but only if u can wait as the other lens is out of stock… But another deal I found with the twin kit is at domayne for $498 twin kit Aussie Stock again-

    http://www.domayneonline.com.au/canon-eos-1100d-twin-lens-ki…

I thought about buying the twin kit at first but then found the D3100 selling for $439 at HN and bought it due to several reasons as compare to the 1100d. Also of someone missed the $439 for D3100 at HN, they can always get price matched with Joyce Mayne where it's still $439…

  • WOW. This is a good deal.
Grey product for 18-55 IS II = $150

Even the 75-300mm for $150, the body will come down to $95.

Who ordered this package but don't need 75-300mm can sell to me for $100?

    Edited:
I just tried that on Amazon it came to total of $423.95 (ie. $15.95 shipping).
