Best Method to Spend $3500 on Gift Cards to Meet Credit Card Bonus Minimum Spend Criteria

Asking for a friend who needs to spend on his new credit card in order to get the bonus points - what's the current best way to utilise buying gift cards for bonus points?

Looking to spend about $3500…

For example, he was thinking of buying the Apple gift cards that have the current 10x bonus Qantas Points from Qantas Marketplace, but it looks like his card is only coming on Wednesday, which is apparently after the offer ends…

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Must not. They should use the $3,500 to pre-pay months of internet.

That would only really be relevant if they wanted to purchase something from Apple in the near future. Otherwise just get Woolies/Coles vouchers and use them straight away

I struggle to understand how people can't find ways to spend the minimum for the credit card bonus. You got 3 months usually.

Does your friend need furniture? (ikea gift cards, can get them 4% discounted)

    How about electronics? (JB Hifi)

how about paying rent via Sniip?

what about utility bills, phone plans, netflix subscription, etc.

Perhaps they live in their own world , and really don't understand what it means to make ends meet ⁉️

Everyday Wish and Coles Myer Gift Cards come to mind as good choices as they cover a lot of basic items which most people are likely to purchase regularly, Plus you have 4 years to use the Coles Myer cards and Everyday Wish cards don't expire. If you want to take advantage of discounts or special offers in tandem with gift cards though you will need to do deeper research as to what businesses they will likely spend their money at and if they have gift card offers on.

Maybe your friend shouldn’t have gotten the card if he needs to be advised by his friend

if you have to buy/spend on things you won't usually purchase to meet the requirement, the card isn't for you.

  • If it's just a matter of spending the money to get the points, I have a used 2-stroke mower to sell. Coincidently, $3,500.

You should time your card applications 2 weeks before you have large purchases to make, not apply for cards and then start thinking about how you are going to spend the money.
