It was interesting to see the lack of votes on the last Ebay deal. People really don't trust shopback to record the clicks or pay out the correct rate.

    • +3

I've had to follow up a few times with ShopBack due to incorrect payouts, 2/3 times they declined and said some bs, then the other time, they just ghosted me. I'm done with them. I will be using Topcashback tomorrow to match the cashback amount, they're far more reliable & trustworthy in my experience… not sponsored lol

how does TCB match work please?

      • I do not have good experience with Topcashback. Ordered boost sim card using Topcashback back in Oct 2024 and I am still yet receiving my cashback.

      • So, they don't have to pay you and ghost you legally.

      • I will be using Topcashback tomorrow to match the cashback amount,

That's a good idea to double dip.

  • guess who just made an order this morning….

    • +13

Don't worry, it's not like Shopback would actually honour the cashback anyways…

    • If you made the order less than 60 minutes ago, you can instantly cancel it.

      • +1

Not 60 minutes anymore. The T&Cs have changed it that you can request a cancellation before the seller ships your order
        https://www.ebay.com.au/help/buying/buyers-can-cancel-order/…

        • Request yeah, not instant. Seller has to accept it, might not happen in time.

        • +1

I made a mistake on eBay and tried to cancel. This was within 10 minutes. The eBay seller within 5 minutes said item was shipped and not able to cancel order. Messaged and did end up getting cancelled and refunded order. Few messages later though.

          Edit: was few months ago

          • @Mikael: Sellers mark as posted immediately to stop cancellations

  • That reminds me - need to make a claim from the last deal that didnt track

Time to buy through TCB with their highest cashback guarantee.

  • +4

    Sadly they can't be trusted.

  • how so ? all my cashback tracked and some of them paid out months before the estimation days. They seem pretty good with all the deals on prepared meals like hello fresh, youfoodz…

Its weird seeing comments of Shopback not tracking their purchases. I've had 95%+ success getting them tracked and honoured. Also its very easy to see Rejected cashbacks and submit an appeal if needed. TCB also tracks well. I have however had a terrible experience with Cashrewards. Half of my purchases were just rejected seemingly without any explanation. Also Cashrewards app is terrible.

I’ve no issues with ShopBack either, but TCB does have the highest cashback guarantee, so it makes this deal at 21% :)

Hey BG, I haven't done the TCB price beat and just read:

A bit confusing but it's 20% cashback + 1% on top of the cashback value, not 21%. E.g. a $100 purchase that tracks at 20% is $20. TCB price beat would be $20.20, and not $21 (see example below in their T&Cs).

What is covered in the guarantee?

For Highest Cashback Guarantee Claims that are approved, members will receive an additional 1% on top of the cashback value. E.g. a 10% rate would increase to 10.1%, or a $50 rate would increase to $50.50.

Thanks - always thought it’d 1%, but that example provided it’s more 0.1%

  • $15 cap? 💤💤💤

  • No Shopback Plus day this month?

  • Cap per member or transaction?

  • Is ebay gift card considered "ebay credit". Terminology…

    • +1

Only purchases made through eBay Australia will earn Cashback. Cashback is valid when gift cards are used as a payment method

Seems to be pretty clear to me

  • Is there any limit on the number of transactions for the 20% cashback? I might put a few through around $100 to get the most cash back

    • +2

Generally if they don’t mention that it’s capped per member, it’s capped per transaction

  • Power-bank: branded, reliable & 20000mAh on ebay: any suggestions ? Thanks

  • Why is travel excluded? I just want a new luggage

  • Will this go for 24 hours from midnight tonight?

  • For those of you playing at home:

    1) assume this will NOT track
    2) ensure you screen record the transaction
    3) set a reminder to chase them after tracking period lapses

My cashback from the last deal just got approved.

Unless there's a bank bonus I'll be trying TCB rate match this time
