  • Will this offer still work if I switch to a time of use plan???
By default it recommends me Single rate plans but I prefer Time of use, seems easy enough to switch on the website

    • +1

If you enter your bill details, you can select which tariff you are on.
Although keep in mind the retailer has final say on which tariff to put you on, last time I signed up via Econnex it showed ToU pricing but Alinta put me on a demand tariff.

      • Thanks! I ended up going with standard Single rate for now and will switch to ToU after the 45 day period to be safe :)

  • Does anyone know if there's a way to combine this with the RACV arcline $150 sign up deal?

  • +25% more for electricity (vs Ovo)
+10% more for gas (vs Tango)
Internet basically offers everyone and nothing at the higher speeds I'm at.

Signed up with ENGIE a while ago and received $200 welcome credits which hasn't been used up. What happens with the unused welcome credits if switch away from ENGIE now? Has anyone have any dxperiences in this? Does ENGIE refund the account credits? Thanks.

    • No. Just wait until it's used up, there are always switching offers around.

      • Will do. Thank you.

1st April, you will also receive additional $75 from AU GOV (aka your own taxes)

Decided to cancel a switch to an ACTEWAGL plan. I received a welcome contract with a plan commencement date in August 2025, which is over five months away and definitely outside of the 45-day switch period. Didn't want to gamble and missing out on the $200 incentive as my current plan has good rates (~$0.75 supply, $0.2/kw anytime).

Just letting ya'll know I've been busted abusing the $150 Powershop signup bonus, they denied my application. Citing 'we cannot put you on this plan as there has already been an active account used'

Was nice while it lasted :D

    • As in Powershop did not let you switch to them or did they only deny the $150 bonus?

      • +2

They declined the switch - rather they accepted it then a few days later sent a cancelled connection email.

    • +3

Ouch! Switched to PowerShop 5 times. Had 6 accounts - each with same details.

Staff could clearly see my numerous accounts. When something needed updating, they commented on them. Never a problem. Still received the $150 bill credit in December.

Recently switched to ENGIE, to go back to PowerShop again.

Might have to avoid PowerShop😢 They were my favorite for prompt & friendly customer service.

Haha yes! Be cautious not to get blacklisted like me (I was ruthless and careless) Engie however is still open season for me :D

        • Are you saying Engie does not enforce the 12 months exclusion?

          • @jackofspade: I'm saying I've had it a few times with no issues. Again, this isn't to say they won't click on like Powershop did.

  • +1

Changed to EnergyAustralia - connection got back dated to 4 March 2025!

    • +2

Same here got back dated 10 days, really annoying because I was with Ovo and was abusing the 3 hours of free electricity blasting my air con. Also have an ev so was charging during the cheaper times.

    • Any idea how that effects the churning process and GC eligibility?

EA backdated me nearly 2 months.

      • Wondering this too!

    • They would say in the email it may not be accurate if you have a smart meter

  • +2

I completed switch and received $150 credit Powershop electricity OK. My plan was initially shown as single rate anytime, but I am actually on Time Of Use Plan, which is better anyway for me.

    • It simply depends on your meter.

      • I have a smart meter, is that the key?

        • then it will be time of use likely

          • @freedomofspeech: Have a smart meter in Qld.
Rang Powershop. Was told they don't have time of use tariffs.
Was billed single rate anytime when was with PowerShop this year.

  • Hs anyone received their mastercard from this promo yet?

    • How? You need to be with the retailer for min 45d after switch happens, and wait 90 - 120d for MC!
It's only 15d since this Deal was posted😜

  • +2

As already pointed out in previous Deals - it's main advantage is to those repeatedly switching retailers to gain the incentives.
Not those looking at a long term commitment.

A slightly higher tariff for 45+ days is low compared to the incentives gained.

You can still get incentives from the retailers to switch.

In previous Econnex electricity Deal, that was $200 MC + $150 bill credit for 30d min commitment.

Hopping between energy retailers with these type of Deals has meant no electricity payment for years! (All electric aircon home, no solar)

  • link 404 :(

    • +1

it will come again in april

  • Do we count the 45 days from the sign-up day or from when we got accepted and connected by the retailer?

    • +1

Starting from when you actually connected by the retailer.

  • +1

Will we see this offer soon in April? It seems the offer is released around mid each month.

    • +1

Been using Econnex Deals for years.
But don't count on being available - when you want it.

Have used other less attractive offers, (eg 25k EDR points, $200 retailer signup credit), when there were no direct Econnex Deals when I wanted it last year.

I switch electricity retailers when any (non-refundable) signup credit is used up & minimum time to stay is met. Often every 60d.

      • +1

Sure thanks noted. How about gas, lol.

BTW, I know some retailers would do credit check on sign up, and some would not. May I ask your insights on this? I am a bit worried about my credit score if switching frequently. Heard from my friend that the impact is small.

  • Is this still available? Update says "Update: Promotion reactivated for 27th March 2025 and 4th April 2025."

    But the link 404s

    • The promotion was was indeed reactivated and then shortly withdrawn sometime on 28th March.

I have confirmed it will come back next month.

      • great!

  • I signed up through these guys back in January and they are saying ‘Engie’ still haven’t confirmed that I signed up with them. Even though I just received my last bill.

I got this back from this mob when contacting ng their support

‘ You will be deemed eligible only after we receive confirmation of your successful switch through Econnex Comparison from your chosen provider’

  • I got an sms to complete a google review for Econnex for $20 Woolies gift card. Very easy process
