  I use uBlock Origin and Adblock Plus (both free) on laptop and they have been just fine. They block YouTube ads too. My usage of apps that have ads is low enough to not bother about those ads.

  news.com.au detected an ad blocker running on the device and blocked me from accessing a page. Do we have to whitelist the page, i.e. put up with the ads to see contents?
