Hey guys was at the local Kmart looking for that nespresso coffee machine and they had this on sale. They had like 2-3 on display on a rack at the entrance when i left. Not sure about stock in other stores, sorry if this was a store specific deal.

nostalgia electricsderp?
Do you need to use rock salt and ice with these?
Never could understand the rock salt…
yes. rock salt. it stops the icy mixture in the center from freezing and allows the actual slushy matter to ice up
The salt is for the icy stuff in the middle. Something about freezing points and stuff, but basically it makes it stay cold for longer and prevents it from freezing (as altomic said). You don't put salt in the actual drink :P
This looks pretty much like the one we got from Aldi…don't get it.
We're taking it back because we couldn't get it to form a slushy, just an icy drink.
This was even after 30 minutes using a LOT of ice, salt and chilling everything…it's a LOT of work, even if it did work, to get 1 litre of slushy.I'll agree with blaast . Not worth the effort . We did get it to work using coke but doesn't work with sugar free cool drink . A lot of stuffing around for a very mediocre slushy .
my brother in law is a bartender and he only uses a blender with a sh!7load of ice. Awesome drinks in less than a minute…
it all kmarts but i donot real see point my boss got one just before chistmas for her grand kids we was play with it at work. it was a lot of work. but still so very cheep.
I received this exact one as a gift, and as blaast says, don't get it. A blender works 100x better and cleanup is a nightmare on this thing.
These things are useless. they break and are hard to maintain.
If you're going to be a slushie bogan you might as well go all out with these two options:
Option one (the easy way)
- bring a bucket (un-used kfc bucket or large bowl of some kind) to any 7-11 and ask them how much to fill it. (if they act weird just buy the equivelent large slurpees to fill it.
- throw a bottle of Bacardi upside down in the bucket
- enjoy slushy daiquiri
Option two (the frugal, long term way )
- Grab a $10 stick blender
- A $4 bucket from bunnings
- Finally, grab a $3 bag of ice & some cordial
- Blend and mix in whatever as you go (needs more ice, put in more ice. etc)
You're now a qualified slushy bogan. enjoy the summer!
To snob up, simply freeze cubed mango and place in a regular blender for the best slushy ever. keep away from peasants
Bought this as a gift terrible idea doesnt work…. AVOID…………..
So take it back and get a replacement? Could be an isolated product fault… No need to neg, the deal is still good.
Great drive today going to the 3 closest kmarts just to get the discount as each store only had 1 in stock. ended up with 2 as the last store wouldn't price match 2 other local kmart stores and the qld kmart store :(
thanks Kikkoman56 for the heads up
Fair enough revoked the neg vote. Still terrible product… but i guess can return
Well since it is such a hot day today in Melbourne. I got out my kambrook one that looks quite similar. Used mango concentrate/cordial from coles, ICE, and salt. 1) Put in ice + 2-3 spoons of salt into the chamber. 2) turn machine on. 3) pour in water and concentrate. Give it around 30 mins and you get a slushie with 7-eleven consistency, no Kidding! The tip is: Don't put in any water in the ice chamber, only ice and salt up to the second plastic thingie. And you can also watch the slushie freeze up into ice crystals too. =D
I read that as "Sushi Maker" and wondered about that picture :-)
