Latitude 28 Degree Credit Card is Offering $0 Monthly Fee for 12 Months

Did you see the new Latitude 28 Degree credit card promotion just started today as of 19/02/2025?

I was surprised by how quick it got approved! Literally click "apply now", input address, employment, income and expense, it got approved instantly! Without asking any supporting documents at all! And guess what, I can add to google wallet straight away ready to spend!

Their new promotion is eligible to any new card whether you previously had or not.
You can select either:
- $300 cash back when you spend $1000 or more every statement month for first 3 months.
OR
- $0 card fee for first 12 months from approval.

This is the best travel card in the market to my opinion, other than 0% foreign transaction fee, you can also get free global data on e-SIM each year!

Just too thoughtful…

Highly recommend if you have a overseas trip coming up, go to their website to check out the details!

    Associated?

    • Nope, not associated. Purely sharing experience as i applied for my own upcoming trip and i love it.

lol what a joke, too little too late.

They should have given out these promo before they decided to introduce the monthly fee. I've had a card with them for 10 years+ and closed it in a heartbeat

    • Probably thats their trick, to filter out who is the real loyal and active user instead of just keeping th3 card doing nothing or just once a year trip

Between price protect and monthly $10 credit I kinda can still say worth.. barely

The app frequently goes offline/ can’t be accessed and takes a very long time for money to clear off spend-able limit/ and get allocated.

  • Just use Macquarie debit…

    • Agree, I can't see any downside with it, no o'seas ATM or foreign transaction fees. Just a shame they moved their high interest to the savings account, now have to shuffle funds back n forth. Was perfect before that

Maybe cc if you are buying thousand dollars of toy/whiskey/etc at destination
Or.. for a trip with a new hot gold digger gf

      • Still a debit card, means no chargeback option if a company screws you over.

        • is it not a Visa debit card?

          • @fredblogs: It's mastercard.. but is clearly marked 'debit' so I think @ronnknee's warning is valid

            • @Horacio: You can do chargebacks on Visa/Mastercard debit cards afaik, I've done it before with a Visa one

I'd be aiming for the $300 cashback

Latitude 28 Degree Credit Card Back to $0 Monthly Fee?

Well it isn't back to no monthly fee, it is being waived for 12 months. Pretty common thing to offer for new card holders.

    No deal.

    • Well, the $300 cash back can cover over 3 years of monthly fee, i'd be going for that.

      • +4

They shouldn't bother with any kick backs and just offer the card from $0/month like it used to be.

I got rid of mine when they started to charge a monthly fee.

best travel card in the market

No thanks, let them taste their own medicine.

There arent any good alternatives to 28degrees anymore, thats part of the problem.

  • I see $300 back per month in Latitude Rewards not direct cashback. What can I buy with Latitude Rewards?

Edit: It's a small bunch of GCs

      $300 back per month

It's not per month, this deal is a once off $300 cash back when you spend $1000 or more every statement month for the first 3 months.

You're looking at the ongoing 3% kick back which is yes in the inflated rewards store.

      • The cash back is only for the Go MC which requires $1500 a month in the first 6 months? The card posted by the OP $1000 a month in the first 3 months explicitly says Latitude Rewards

        • The card posted by the OP $1000 a month in the first 3 months explicitly says Latitude Rewards

Then that is even a worse deal……

          No deal for me.

  • Has anyone had success with getting any credit etc. by threatening to close your card?

    • Not allowed to do that anymore.

      • Yeh you are, they just can't offer it with you asking for it.

        • threatening to close your card if they don't waive your yearly fees or offer a credit is a direct no no.

          • @JimmyF: Nope, worked with me for Citibank. "I'm considering closing my card because the fees are too high, is there anything you can offer me?" Got me 50% off my annual fee.

  • Whats everyone using as an alternative?

    • Yes interested to know also

      • For credit cards, Bendigo seemed to be the favourite, followed by BankWest.

        • Agree. Sadly the free o'seas travel insurance went away from one of them. Which? Can't remember!

        • which card specifically at Bendigo?

          • @mreddie: The Bendigo "Ready" which also has 'platinum' written on it for some reason. As for BankWest, they put an end to the travel insurance for the Zero Platinum Mastercard which makes it less attractive. Their insurance was already not as generous as Bendigo's anyway.

    • Whats everyone using as an alternative?

I don't spend that much overseas to offset the $8/m fees.

So at the moment, I'm just sucking up the intl transaction fees on my main card.

    • CBA Ultimate Awards. Free if you have a home loan with them

    • CBA smart awards; I don’t spend enough consistently for ultimate to make sense.

Probably not the best out there but it doesn’t cost me a cent, I get award points, various insurances and cheap internet via More / Commbank Yello.

  • Bendigo

  • Meh, shouldn't have been any fee and I don't ever go back to companies that deliberately pushed away as many users as possible.
